A brief no-spoiler explanation of the memories Historia received when she sliced Roddy: They essentially confirmed that Rod was telling the truth about at least part of his story: particularly the bit about the First King's pacifism. -We see a young Rod begging his father to free humanity from the walls and titans but his father refuses and doesn't explain why. -We see Rod's younger brother Uri promise Rod he will be fine after inheriting the founding titan but we know he also didn't free humanity. Rod feels like he lost his brother and in his loneliness he looks for comfort in an affair with serving girl Alma, Historia's mother. -We see Rod's daughter Frieda promise that she "won't lose to the ghosts of their ancestors" but when she inherits the founding titan from Uri she has the same purple eyes, and again refuses to liberate humanity or explain why she won't.

The pacing slows down a little bit, to give you a little bit of a breather, but there’s going to be a lot of important information in the next few episodes, also, there’s going to be a credit scene at the end of episode 49, be sure to not miss it, you’re almost to part 2 of this season , and this is where all hell breaks loose and it’s where we see some of the best episodes that we’ve ever seen in TV history :)
