i always look to the reaction to bertholdts confession to see if a reactor is truly trying to understand this story and its deeper complexity, its always disappointing when they just ignore it or dont care, remember Reiner and Bertholdt were 12 years old when they attacked, what 12 year old does this by their own choice?

Yeah, I'm a little disappointed too. Feel like he's gonna enjoy the show significantly less with his current mindset but who knows, maybe it'll change. Not really a fan of his takeaways or lack of thoughts given in general either tbh

@Jon pro tip: on Crunchyroll player I think you can just click wherever on the screen to pause or play the video, or also use the spacebar on the keyboard ;) might be more convenient than always searching for the tiny button when you want to pause đŸ˜…â™„ïž

This comment is coming from a very strange place considering all the available information at this point on the show. I think you’re projecting and want Jon to feel a certain way based on info he doesn’t have. Nowhere in the show does it explicitly say or let the viewer know they were 12 during the first attack

the fact that itsbeen five years since the first attack has been repeated multiple times, we also know that everyone are 15 years old excep reiner and bertholdt who were said to be the big brothers of the group. I cant particularly remember if they said they are 17 now but the show makes it very clear that if eren is 10 when his mother dies then reiner and bertholdt would also be in that same age range, its very obvious even if not explicitly stated

The reason why Armin's talk about Annie hit so hard for Reiner and Bert is because they were very far away from stohess when the end of S1 was happening and had no idea Annie fought Eren and lost/protected herself in crystal.

I think it's much easier to make this assessment having more information from later seasons. Given the fact that the show throws a lot of stuff at you some times and the fact that in the last episode Ymir talked about spending 60 years as a Titan, it's not as clear cut to assume the age of these people who's abilities are not well understood yet.

There's so much going on that it's impossible to take everything in on first watch. Without context, it's also difficult to really understand everything thrown at the viewer. Not to mention, there's a ton of action going on. It's part of what makes the show so amazing. You catch more and more on the 2nd and 3rd rewatches. Unfair comment IMO.

Personally, his current opinion makes me more excited for what’s to come. I certainly could not comprehend nor empathize with Reiner and Bertholdt at this point here. Like Eren, I was reeling from the betrayal and wanting them to suffer when I watched this for the first time. Perfectly understandable to want to brush off any kind of rationalizing that Reiner and Bertholdt have to offer right now

Unbelievable that this point comes up every episode. No two people watch the show the same way, that's the point of a reaction channel. Also expecting someone to react to small details, and relating them to comments mentioned at the beginning of a previous season on the first watch is crazy. If this is your 3rd 4th 5th time watching the show, you will obviously notice more of the details. This fact should not send you into the deepest depression of your life.

You’re griping over the most Minuscule detain in the whole show. With everything going on who the hell was thinking about their ages on first watch. Also the fact that someone was making them do this should’ve been realized long ago given that they call themselves warriors, the beast titan could easily be interpreted as their boss at this point on first watch, and it literally would not make sense for them to be doing this of their own accord 😂 you sound like you’re projecting childhood trauma into reactors regarding this specific part.

Favourite episode of season 2, 2x6 and 2x12 get a lot of hype but this one with Mikasa and Erwin going off and the gang perched on Ryners shoulders is so good. There's no downtime with this one like the others.
