Not so sure about this episode!

I think this arc does have a rocky start but once it settles it gets really good

What exactly is it that you are confused on? If it's about Todo fighting amongst his schoolmates, it's cuz he doesn't care about killing Sukuna's vessel. He's having fun fighting Yuji and he doesn't want them to take his new "best friend" away

Todo doesn't want to outright kill Itadori especially now that he likes him. They were arguing because the rest of his class is okay with just following the principal's orders but Todo isn't with it. The bird that struck the girl was from Fushiguro. Its the same one he used when he fought Sukuna.

I think it would help to relate Todo's character to if LeBron James in every interaction said he just wanted to go see Taylor Swift while still being amazing at what he does haha. As for his interaction with Itadori, Itadori is physically strong just like him and was the first person ever to have the same type as Todo which made Todo imagine a life where they grew up together and were best friends/brothers. You still hit the nail on the head with Todo being crazy haha.

The beginning of this arc has the brutal task of introducing a lot of characters and concepts that become relevant down the line. The next few episodes will slow down a bit and it will become less confusing. This episode is a bit all over the place (more so than any other episode) so I understand how you feel. Please do keep going because it's only going to get better from here as the plot becomes more centralized and the side characters get more fleshed out. Great reaction though man! Oh, and never apologize for being honest. As someone who watches a lot of your content I definitely want to know your true feelings about things.

Whenever you're confused just go back 20 seconds and rewatch the scene you're confused about.

We are coming up on blast-off Jon, stay patient. One thing that I love about JJK is its refusal to just make any character “normal”. A lot of shows will infuse interest into a character’s arc down the road via some backstory or internal struggle, but every JJK character has a clear and authentic (if sometimes over the top) personality. Todo is THE prime example of this. Bar Gojo, he is arguably the strongest sorcerer you’ve see in action so far - but he is a petulant child. He has no feigned allegiance to the rest of his school, he just wants a challenge. So the rest of Kyoto backed off their plan to kill Yuji once Todo decided he wouldn’t let them.

This episode and the last one are a little tough to get through Jon, especially taking into account that you’re still reacting to music, and watching AOT at the same time which is a masterpiece in and of itself. JJK is a naturally confusing show that develops plot threads through a lot of showing and not telling. They tell you just enough to give you a basic understanding, but there’s so much to take in that it can be overwhelming. But the next few episodes are worth it, and I really do hope this show comes all the way around for you. Great reaction as always brotha! 👍🔥

i think the problem youre having is taking it too seriously... all these characters are extreme and over the top everything is exaggerated from the fights to the comedy. it can be confusing to adjust to as your first anime that doesnt take itself too seriously all the time of course, but once you figure out that this is what this genre is, like naruto, demon slayer, and other shonen, they revolve around extreme characters and goofiness while getting serious when it comes to maintaining awesome action and world building. like todo imagining a world where him and yuji were bestfriends is just comedy gold. fighting anime like this isnt something that has to be super dissected and broken down like attack on titan because it isnt meant to be that it's supposed to just be a fun good time.i'd compare it to listening to future as apposed to AOT being like a kendrick. you listen to them for very different reasons but enjoy them both for what they provide.

I mean the way you disregarded Todo and just said yes he is insane was honestly the perfect mood to watch the show with. There's tons of value in the structure and character writing but it's not typical for some people so I guess I get the jarring feeling. It would suck to not enjoy something like this that has good guts to it. Also if you ever start the one piece campaign you will blow up a lil I think. Just take my advice and check out One Pace. It's a recut of the anime to the pacing of the manga. It cuts out so much nonsense it's insane and made watching the begining easy. Still a lot of episodes but hell that's also a lot of CONTENT.

Full agree with this. Reacting to JJK would be like reacting to Young thug in like the first couple weeks of r*ck r*acts haha. AOT is a GOAT show for a reason. It’s like you said, a Kendrick of the anime world. But just like hip hop we love ourselves shonens where it is goofy but the fight scenes make me go crazy just like hearing Gunna flow on pushin P. JJK isn’t a fine art but it’s tons of fun.
