Spot on, you’re 100% right about the fatherhood aspect. It is one of the most important and consistent themes throughout this show, great shout mate. Not just actual fathers and sons but the men that fill that role and even between Man and the “Father in Heaven”. The priest’s point about unconditional love and how man is truly incapable of it but should strive for it nonetheless is absolutely at the core of Christianity. It’s original sin and the calling to be good despite perfection being something out of our reach until death.
