Okay, so.

You have probably noticed that my health this year has been... iffy.

CHRONIC PAIN, SURGERY, KIDNEY STONE, colds, flus, complications, ear infections

The truth of the matter is that I've never had very good health. And since the fibromyalgia ramped up a few years ago, it's been worse.

I'll be the first to admit I push my limits too often.

So it's time I take my limits more seriously.

Starting in October, I'm drastically reducing the benefits of this Patreon. Most pointedly, no more commissions.

I love doing commissions for you guys. But realistically, I'm 6 months behind and cannot catch up.

Stressing out about Patreon rewards is taking me away from focusing on the whole point of this Patreon: Tamberlane!

My hope is that by cutting back, I can rebuild my buffer, ease some of my health issues, and do more personal art! I'm not certain of the details yet, but read below for more info!

MORE INFORMATION

After my 3rd ER trip for this stupid kidney stone last night, I am extremely foggy so please excuse me if this doesn't make a lot of sense right now!

Here's what I can tell you for sure:

September will be the last month where $50+ tier gets sketches. All sketches in the queue up til September WILL get done. Any sketches that are ongoing "grouped" commissions (e.g. getting done a bit at a time) will be completed even if technically there weren't enough months to finish it.

Cameos are staying as is. Most of the rewards that involve comic behind-the-scenes etc will be staying as is. Almost all of the "as available" rewards are going to just be removed entirely as possible rewards, and instead will just be the occasional treat when I'm able and interested.

$50+ will get commission announcements first, higher priority when picking who I'll take as a client, and a discount of some kind (to be determined). Like I said, I LOVE doing commissions for you guys. And hopefully by reducing my Patreon workload, I'll be able to take more commissions in general.

What else...

The quarterly merch shipments became too confusing on my end, it turns out, because of a lot of factors. (I definitely can't afford to ship everyone a shirt, for example, because they're Print On Demand and not something I make for cheap). So the $50+ folks will instead get either a monthly or a quarterly mailing of some new specified merch which will be first crack at new items that will be on the store. These will be pins, stickers, or sometimes keychains.

I think this will be easier. I'm so sorry that I can't take on commissions, but I know y'all understand.

I also expect a lot of you will drop to lower tiers or altogether, and I totally get that. I'm so grateful for all the support you've given me in the past, and I love each and every one of you. You've helped me cover our household bills, which is HUGE for a freelance artist. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I'll try to get everything sorted out before October hits, and when I do, I'll make another post about it so you can make your decisions. Thank you.

Your health is more important. Take care of you! <3

I can't speak for everyone, Pixel, but I'm here for one, and only one reason: to support *you*. Adding more to your workload doesn't do that. I know I'm not alone in thinking this. Take care of yourself first, k? K.

River 'Neon Noble' Nicolosi

Take care of yourself! I hope your health issues stabilize so that you can enjoy yourself.

Speaking as someone who suffers from those dreaded stones (chronically) I sympathise. You need to take care of yourself first. Do whatever you need to to ensure that happens.

Airvynk

So much crap happens to you, but you still do what you love no matter what! Get well and keep inspiring the others!

Best of luck feeling better mate, it's good to get your workload into a place where you're happy with it and it's sustainable. <3

Foal Papers

Absolutely do whatever you need to do to take care of yourself. You and your health must come first. Hugs to you, and I hope things improve for you soon.

Julian Kröll

Absolutely understandable. Your health and well-being should always come first. Take care of yourself and THEN see what you can work on. No need to stress yourself. Hope you'll be better soon.

Ryebread

Your health absolutely comes first, both for yourself and for all your fans in the long term. Once you're in a more tolerable place in that regard, and as you say yourself, Tamberlane comes next as the next priority. Everything after that IMHO, like commissions, should be tertiary concerns. Lovely when you can get to them, but hardly something that should be high up on the list.

JC Amberlyn

Take care of yourself! <3

Not going away, not reducing my pledge. I absolutely adore every commission you've done for me, but I definitely understand having to cut them out. Please focus on your health and well-being. I'll -- and the others here, I'm sure -- do what I can to keep helping from here along the way. :)

Take care and get better!
