This struck me this morning that could be a Tokugawa era Japan sort of situation; Silver Sage is cut off from the rest of the world due to some perceived threat (either physical or idealogical), and those that cross that line (either intentionally or accidentally) are banished forever. So, what sort of threat that would cause Silver Sage to withdraw? And how did Tamberlane get there in the first place?
