As you might be able to tell, there were a lot of changes made to the center row of panels as we figured out how to portray what we wanted to portray. I wanted it to be clear that Belfry left, and they have a moment of silence as she leaves, then are free to discuss it. But the original thumbnails didn't quite work out.

I sent 3 options to Ari to decide what worked the best:

(Also you can see I edited Tess's dialogue in the penultimate panel to make sure it was clear she's referring to his twisty and arcane way of philosophizing, instead of commenting on Belfry's lack of understanding or unintentionally making commentary on Walter's imperfect Growl.)

Ultimately, we decided to go with splitting the middle panel into two so we could show Belfry leaving, and then their silent pause.

However, as you might notice from the video, as I was getting ready to shade, I realized that Belfry was going the WRONG DIRECTION to be leaving the room. The door has been established to be stage right, so having her leave stage left would be weird and a bit confusing.

So I had to flip Belfry, and then flip Walter and Tess, but since they all shared the same set of layers, I had to isolate them all so I could flip them in place, and then I had to go back and fix all their asymmetrical features like Tess's scar and ear notch, and Walter's broken antler.

It turned out alright!

Anyway, hopefully you enjoy this timelapse of me trying to figure things out.

Aw, I really like how this page came out! Very cool to see the the process and decision to split the middle panel in two to fit everything in, I think it worked out great!
