https://www.battleorder.org/post/waypoint-divisions I've made a big update to the article on the U.S. Army's division reorganization effort. It has:

1. A lot of new detail published in 2022, as the original article was based on vague 2021 info. There are links and images to source material and long talks on the matter

2. New graphics for each division template based on the most recent late 2022 proposal

3. A white paper on the subject published in Feb 2023 for download

4. A list of some of the assumptions I made in 2021 that were wrong at the bottom so there's no confusion

What about 2nd/7th ID? Will they be reorganized into different division?

I’m curious as to how the Light Reconnaissance Companies are going to be manned. Given how it’s labeled as a Reconnaissance Company, not a Cavalry Troop, it implies in my mind that it will manned by 11 Bravo Infantrymen, and perhaps flagged as a separate company under say the 52nd Infantry Regiment.

Yes I'm also very curious about this. Maybe they will just stay as separate hq with rotating brigades?

Since they broke the 11th from the 25th ID they might use 2ID units to fill the gaps. They all operate in the Pacific.

What exactly is the Cross Domain Platoon in the Infantry Battalion?

Battle Order

It's basically a unit for accepting new technologies, like robotics and UAS, and figuring out how to integrate them in the battalion, or possibly man them. This is so integrating new tech doesn't take away personnel from other essential tasks. Unlear exactly what it has in it, but the division-level equivalent in Cav Squadrons is tentatively templated with a UAS platoon in it with the same strength as a Shadow UAS platoon currently.
