That's true about the 194th. I went to basic training in '89 and then was assigned to the 1-12 CAV there which was part of the Armor School. The 194th's grunts were scooting around in M113s (we simply called them APCs, Tracks, or One-One-Threes). I forget what type of tanks they had. I want to say either M1s or M60s. I later joined the 1st ID at Riley where they had Bradleys for their APCs. The tank battalions were equipped with the M1 Abrams, perhaps IPs, but it transitioned over to the A1s in Saudi. That would be January 1991.
