Sequel 1 - Greetings ─ Aoyama Family

Today too, it's been sunny since this morning. The warm sunlight and cool air feel very nice.

1:25 p.m.

I pedal my bicycle while feeling the pleasant early summer air, and arrive at Hiori's house. I came here to have a study session for the midterm exam which starts next Tuesday.

For the study session members, besides Hiori and myself, there are also Himura-san, Kazuo, and Shimizu-san. And Hazuki Saaya-san, Hiori's best friend who is in the science class. There's also Hiori's younger sister, Nanami-chan. It seems that the middle school that Nanami-chan attends also has a midterm exam next week.

The study session is scheduled to start around 2:00 pm, but I am going to inform Hiori's family that I have started officially dating her. At Hiori's suggestion, we decided that I’d come at 1:30.

I enter the Aoyama family premises with my bicycle and park it near the gate. By the way, Hiori’s mother Youko-san has given me permission to park my bicycle on the premises when I arrive on it.

I go to the front door and ring the intercom.

[Yes. Ah, Akito-san. I'll go right away.]

“Ok.”

Soon, I’m going to greet Hiori's family huh?

I already met and informed Youko-san of it at her home the day we started officially dating. And I received a congratulatory message from Nanami-chan on LIME. That's why, in essence, I will be informing her father, Ryou-san.

I gently grab both of Hiori's shoulders and kiss her.

Up until now, I've felt Hiori's warmth from holding her hands and hugging her, but I think the unique sensation as well as the warmth that comes from her lips is special. Also, I can smell a faint smell of tea.

Since this is the entrance, I move my lips away only after a few seconds. When I do, I see Hiori's slightly blushing face in front of me.

“Onee-chan and Kamitou-san kissed! Okaa-san!”

“They did! Seeing my own daughter kissing her lover somehow makes me feel emotional. And I get excited!”

“My heart is pounding too!”

‘Kyaa─!’ I hear the shrill voices of Nanami-chan and Youko-san. When I look inside the house, I see the two of them peeking out from the living room and looking at us excitedly.

Ryou-san says in a quiet voice.

When I slowly raise my head, I see Ryou-san smiling quietly, Youko-san smiling calmly, and Nanami-chan smiling happily.

“Ever since she started dating Kamitou-kun on a trial basis, around the time when you came to visit our house during Golden Week, Hiori has started showing a lot of cute and bright smiles like  the ones she used to show. Her smile is especially nice when she’s talking about Kamitou-kun.”

“So that’s how it is.”

When I came here during Golden Week, I asked Hiori about her middle school days. Ever since then, Hiori began to show her smiles and laughs.

Her smile is especially nice when she’s talking about me... is it? Hearing that makes me feel very happy. So much that I want to take a peek at that time.

“I heard that with the support of not only you, but also her friends such as Hazuki-san and Himura-san, Hiori was able to have a firm talk with the girl who hurt her so badly in middle school. As a parent, I am grateful. Thank you.”

Saying that, Ryou-san grabs my left shoulder with his right hand.

“From now on, please continue to live happily ever after with Hiori. As her parents, we will watch over you and sometimes we will help you. However, if you hurt her badly or make her sad, as her parent, I will separate you two and I won't forgive you. I hope you remember that well.”

I firmly respond to Ryou-san's words as he speaks with a serious tone. I’m dating her precious daughter as her official lover. What's more, Hiori has a history of being deeply hurt because of her relationships with others during her middle school days. It’s only natural that he used strong words.

Ryou-san looks into my eyes, smiles, and nods slightly.

“I’m counting on you. Also, what Father said just now can also be said to you, Hiori. Cherish Kamitou-kun who cherishes you, and live happily ever after with him.”

“I understand, Otou-san.”

The corners of Hiori's mouth turn up, but she looks at Ryou-san seriously. Seeing her like that, I strongly believe that I can live happily ever after with her.

“When we talk about these things, it's like the two of you are already getting married. I'm glad that I was able to meet someone who I think loves Hiori, and that you started dating.”

Ryou-san looks happy as he says that, and tears start to emerge from both of his eyes. I'm sure Ryou-san was like this when Hiori informed him that we were officially dating.

I had a period of about half a year of unrequited love for her, so I'm really happy to hear Hiori's words just now.

When I had unrequited love for Hiori, even dating her as a lover was just a pipe dream. But now that we've started officially dating after being trial lovers, I'm starting to feel that marriage with Hiori can be a reality. Well, we’re not old enough to get married yet though.

Maybe it’s because Ryou-san said, “It's like a pre-wedding greeting.” Both Youko-san and Nanami-chan said to please take care of Hiori.

But, when I look at Hiori's parents and Nanami-chan, I can feel that all three of them are very willing to accept the idea of Hiori officially dating me. That makes me very happy. In order not to betray the feelings of the three of them, I vow in my heart that I will cherish Hiori and do my best to be happy together forever.
