Taking advantage of the day off, I tried to make Animax in Rocko's Modern Life style, but this time, I decided to show you the process of how I made it through a gif.

Like what I shared before, I made a sketch of what my character would look like in that style.

Once the sketch is finished, the drawing is cleaned in another layer. You can see in the gif that I cleared the sketch layer so they could tell how it differs.

When cleaning it, we already have what could be called the Lineart of the drawing. I use SAI for linearts, and Photoshop for coloring.

In another layer, the color begins to be added. As here I try to imitate the style of a series of the 90's, I must choose well the shades that I will use of the colors. Here as you can see, I put a white shirt on Animax, because if I left it totally black, a lot of the work would be lost. Also her pants and fur are not entirely black.

When it was colored, I made the background in another layer. I didn't want to complicate myself, so I made a very simple light pink background. In another layer I added two colors to make the shadow effect. One is dark blue, and the other orange. I degraded these two colors to make a better effect of lights and shadows in the background. And with the soft brush, I made a small white spheres, to get an idea of a starry sky.

Finally, when joining all the layers, I used the Gaussian blur and doubled it twice, creating a slight 3D effect (In one of the layers the red color predominates, and in the other the blue color), and moving them very carefully, so that the image can look old.

It is quite likely that there are simpler ways than the ones I use, but these are the ones I know or handle more easily... Regardless of my process, I still admire those who manage to do a similar or even better job every day.
