5E made bards quite potent. A 19 lore bard / 1 life cleric is the strongest healer in the game with fantastic offensive punch. Wild, no?

Oh I never played the 5th edition, only Advanced, 3, 3.5, and Pathfinder... but I did want to try out a Scald, the Barbarian/Bard class that looked kinda fun

Advanced (2E) and Pathfinder here before 5E. Bards in 2E definitely were silly, though they could lob fireballs while wizards were 4th level haha. Silly xp charts... PF drove me nuts. Too much to track. Especially barbarians and power attacks ... let me see, power attacking, raging, +9 -4 +3 ... wait, do I have a feat to cancel the penalty? ... gads ... too much maths!! xD
