*A lot of things happened this year.*

-My job of 14 years closed down at the very end of March, following a month solid of tear-down, pallet-packing, truck-loading and still taking customer calls.
-The follow-up job I was offered, I quit in less than a week with no contract, no payrate, nothing but promises and a quick $500 for my time.
-I began my adventure into true freelance work.
-I furnished my work-from-home studio space!
-I started doing commissions on my Picarto stream, to great success!
-I started my first new comic project in 10 years.  You'll see soon. ;)
-I drew the least amount of Demon Mages content since it's creation :(
-I vastly expanded the Ronde, the Fridays, and shook dust off shooting-game fanarts :)
-I didn't get anywhere near $1000 a month on Patreon (but I never went below $500 either, so yay!)
-I reconnected with old friends and collaborators from my DeviantArt(!) days!
-I caught COVID-19!  It sucked!  Quarantine really is the worst!
-I was diagnosed with colitis, and had a colon cancer screening.  I'm OK, btw.
-My last-surviving grandparent died in July & my eldest aunt died right before Christmas.

And I completed what you see above from April 28th to December 28th.

I'm not going to lie, either; the freelance work has been on life-support since day one.  I banked on immediate success, didn't establish the right workflow, and maintained the budget of a 14-year steady job, instead of the whenever-I'll-get-paid-next chaos that freelancing quickly becomes.  There were big payoffs, and bigger droughts.  I went legitimately broke.  I made a ton of mistakes.  I have a survivable income for now, but the threat of failure still looms.

Yet, I'm still in the game, somehow.  I promised myself -- I'm not giving up.
I'm nowhere near the finish, and not even close to a success, but I WILL make it work.

So, for everyone who requested monthly rewards here, followed posts on social media, bought a commission, liked, commented and valued my work in any way, helped me whenever the chance came -- I cannot thank you enough.

THAT, has been the real gift of this truly awful year.

I'm taking my usual end-of-the-year break, but kicking it off with a refresher stream between this Wednesday or Thursday (schedule permitting), and will be back on Wednesday night, January 11th with a just-for-fun birthday stream at 10pm till... whenever!  There will be reward posts and extras here on Patreon well after 2022 ends.  This will continue to be a fun and satisfying place for me, so let's get some more folks to join in 2023!

Have a wonderful holiday, and a Happy New Year, everybody!
