Remember that corny 60s show, Superfriends? The one where the Justice League squared off against the Legion of Doom every episode? They had all the DC heroes in their comic book outfits and all the villains in their corny get up? I really miss the aesthetic of that if I'm being honest. I was just chatting with a supporter about a Darkseid/Wonder Woman concept I had and I dreaded working on anything with the two since modern designs of both enter overdesigned territory.

Honestly, too many comic book superheroes always seem to be afraid of embracing the corny aspect of being a superhero. People want to take them seriously and thus update them to fit with the times.

I love Man of Steel, The Dark Knight, and Wonder Woman, but how I wish movies would quit trying to make superheroes cool and just embrace the silliness of it all. Marvel is even guilty of doing this too with their movies in that they regularly mock the classic looks of these heroes [See Jessica Jones, The Incredible Hulk, the upcoming Scarlet Witch show, etc]

Maybe I'm just rambling, but these shows were shitty, cheesy, reused animation, and generally were cheap ass cartoons meant to shut kids up for an afternoon. Well, I grew up with this shit, man. I love it and I miss the classic designs.

Yes, I love and appreciate modern designs, but it never hurts to go back to your roots.
