Definitely not a plot hole. Jaime was sworn to protect the Mad King as his Kingsguard and ended up stabbing him in the back. He broke his oath to the King and to the Kingsguard, and betrayed Aerys, which a man like Ned Stark who is all about honor definitely looks down on regardless of which side he’s on.
