hello dear patrons,
it's been a whirlwind past couple of months. since launching the campaign to try to find a blood stem cell donor match for my mom in january, we've pretty much been in a non-stop swirl of brainstorming and planning and emotional rollercoastering. one of the results of this has been totally falling off in many facets of my life, one of them being my duties to you all here on patreon. my sincerest apologies!
before i forget--let's get a coffee date in next week! march 29th, 11am pst

some updates for you:
music
somedays it feels like i'll never make music again (already a lie because plenty of music has happened between and since having these feelings!), and other days i'm brushing up against that same beauty and excitement that first brought me to music. since we last spoke, i've released two songs: 1. a cover of "all you have to do is dream" and 2. a new song with jesse called "open your eyes". i've attached wav files of both songs for you to download :) we've also done a couple live videos of our songs--one of which came out today for "everything" (and is the video embedded in this message). sometime in the next month or so there is a very very special new song coming out, too!! but more on that later :)
a match for mama g
since we launched, we have gotten more than 6,000 people to sign up in the US alone, and many more if we count overseas. it takes a while for people's swab tests to get processed and officially in the registry (and we're still waiting on about 3k of them to be sent back in!), but if feels hopeful to know so many new humans are about to be in the registry. there are still no matches for my mom, but the amazing thing is, according to the statistics, 1 in every 500ish people who register will go on to match with someone someday--so that means so far, thanks to the efforts of many of you and others around the world, we will have helped around 15 people with cancer to find their life-saving matches!! incredible. as for my mom, she is staying strong, continuing to spread joy and love, and we are all staying hopeful that her match is out there somewhere. we are starting to organize more in-person swab drives so folks can come out and get swabbed on the spot, so i will keep everyone posted on those as i'll be hanging out at some of them and perhaps even singing a song or two here and there :) if you haven't registered yet or would like to learn more, here are links to all the places! https://linktr.ee/kinagrannis
aya
life with aya continues to be the most miraculous, joy-filled, wonderful time. (overwhelming and intense as well, of course!) she's 16 months old now, starting to walk, talking a LOT, and is really learning how to flex her "this is what i want!!" muscles. haha. every day is a new adventure. we are all learning and growing a lot :)
sending you all lots and lots of love. thanks as always for your support, patience, and love. it means the world. hope to catch up with you next week at the coffee date!
