For the next Die Shrink we thought it might be good to do something fun - submit questions, topics, or even just general subjects below that you want Tom and Dan to discuss disagreements on...

Examples could be:

  • At the same price would you get a 6750 XT or a 3070?
  • How important do you think Ray Tracing is when evaluating GPUs?
  • Who games on console more?  Why?
  • What Battlefield do you think is the most under or overrated?

^You aren't required to ask those exact questions (feel free to though!), but hopefully that gives you all an idea of what we are looking for.  Anything from AMD/Intel/Nvidia, to Apple, to software, to video games is totally fair game.  Ask away!

You have ~24 hours (Until 1/25/23 Afternoon US Central Time)

Which one of you would be the most unlikely to buy a A770 as you main gpu both had more than enough money

Hey Tom and Dan. Here's a fun one, are mobile gamers to be considered REAL gamers?

Disregarding the operating system, why are MacBook Pros the best laptop available? Are the OEMs too incompetent to build something of similar quality all around (having great or at least good chassis, trackpad, display, silent cooling system, speakers, keyboard, port selection at the same time) or do they hate money?

Not maybe a disagreement topic, but still. For a new build, if you had an option of getting a prebuilt (assuming it is marginally more expensive) would you still go and DIY? I know you both are pretty busy, so I wonder if you retained (or even had in the first place) passion for tinkering with the hardware itself. Also, use this to promote SilverKnights - gave you a perfect segue there.

Who is the better gamer?

Would you prefer performance to stay exactly the same for the foreseeable future but with lower prices and TDPs, or the current paradigm but with 450W+ becoming the new "sweet spot" on the voltage/frequency curve?

QuickJumper

If you had to choose right now with these prices 7900xtx or 4080 what would you choose? Is there something that would change your opinion like pricing change or driver improvements?

B. Fish

What do you both think are appropriate gen over gen performance uplifts for GPU tiers and what do you think the pricing should be for these tiers? I.e. should the 70 be as strong as the strongest card from the prior gen and be $450 - 550?
