Maybe AMD should start the process of producing their own laptops or special models with Lenovo. The real bottleneck is TSMC. The real sales are to corporate purchases at a thousand units per sale. That's what gave Apple the edge in the educational market.

Cheap Intel laptops make use of Intel produced chips. AMD is dependent on outside production.

Intel's 10nm node costs more than TSMC's 7nm, and possibly even 5nm. Yes, Intel can give themselves sweetheart deals - but that doesn't change the fact that they are accepting lower margins than AMD and TSMC. There's a reason Intel is killing its budget brands right now...

I think I would really like an AMD laptop that can compete with Apple on battery life.

The G14 is still AMD.

Was thinking about getting the Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3...it's got the 5600H and 3050 for under $700.

I want a thin light laptop with a 4” thick detachable heatsink as a high performance dock.
