How are the nine MI300 5nm dies laid out?

I’d like to hear Toms response to the way AMD has handled the 7900xtx(and lesser extent xt) in general, from the price arguments to the whole thing about the 110c hotspot temps being “normal” to denying RMAs to now saying it isn’t normal and asking the same people to send in the same cards again for the same reason they just denied RMAs and sent cards back. It seems like this RDNA3 launch is really damaging the perception of AMD right now.

whats goin on with AMD laptops? first Asus dumps them for Intel and now Lenovo said that some AMD variant laptops wont be available for NA & EU.

AMD had a lot of errors in slides this week around phoenix (wrong cache amounts, other weird things) - is this a problem or is this just an issue with a company who used to launch only a few CPUs a year and is now launching a whooole lot of desktop and laptop CPUs from multiple lines at once?

Do you think AMD has handled the 7900XTX cooler problem better than Nvidia did the melting power connectors?

Hi Tom, Seeing as Nvidia’s marketing is leaning heavily on dlss3 and frame generation to sell 40 series cards, is there merit to their explanation that they require the newer optical flow accelerator on the 40 series? Or could it just be locked out artificially from the 30 series for marketing purposes ?

Are AMD really going to "come out swinging" on the consumer GPU market when they can still push as much as possible supply into the server market while milking the absolute bare minimum performance per dollar in the consumer segment to maximise their margins?

Hey Tom I just wanted to correct that in one of the loose ends I said I was surprised how efficient the 13700K was, I meant it compared to the 12700k, and 12900k not in general.

Hi Tom, Contrarian take: I don't think the 4070ti and 4080 are overpriced. When considering: - the additional 70% of USD supply printed since amperes launch leading to currency debasement - supply chain constraints and geopolitical events exacerbating current and future inflation - tsmc 4nm being WAY more expensive than tsmc 7nm and Samsung 8nm - the new cards are by far the most efficient GPUs, especially at idle (arguably matters more than whilst gaming) - they offer a better overall tangible and intangible UX than amd

Will there be scheduling issues with the 7950 X3D with multiple CCD types? I assume MS won’t do a good job…
