It's hard to believe that 2022 is already coming to an end, but it is! Correspondingly, we will once again be doing an end-of-year series that looks back at the releases and rumors of 2022, and also towards the releases and expected rumors of 2023!

Once again Dawid Does Tech Stuff will join us for one episode, and there will be three episodes in total:

  • Wrapping up this week's news, and looking back at early 2022 w/ Dan
  • Looking back at 2022, and looking forward to the beginning of 2023 w/ Dawid
  • Looking forward to all of 2023 and beyond w/ Dan

Thus we encourage multiple questions (submitted separately!), and for you to decide if you are addressing Dan, Tom, and/or Dawid (or no one specific at all!).  We will pull from this massive trove of "Telegrams" below for all three episodes.

Hello Tom and Dan, someone called Dan “DanDaddy” in the replies and I’ve been laughing about it since. Anyways my question is what are you’re opinions on the longevity of PCGaming, you discussed with Jim previously and both seemed to agree that the mid ranged has essentially received a permanent price bump along with many other tiers with it. In the last two years we saw great growth with the community but companies have ruined any chance of further growth. Thankfully because of the cheap supply recently I’ve been able to get many friends and family in. But going forward with consoles in stock and deals drying up along with rising gpu prices, from my position just get a ps5 play god of war at 1440p high fps and you’ll enjoy yourself, connect a mouse and keyboard and play cod at 120fps. I only asked this question because I wanted to point out someone called Dan “DanDaddy”, if it’s poorly worded sorry, and thanks for the content.

Hi Tom and Dan, One item for looking forward for the MLD channel would be game reviews. Not just what are you waiting for, what is eating up any free time, but actual game reviews. The two of you seem to enjoy first person shooters and do some familial bonding so there is a new game that would be puuuuurrrfect for the channels first game review. A first person shooter, brand new to the market and yet to be reviewed by LTT or included in benchmarks by Harbor Onbox, I am of course speaking of Fury Arena released on December 1st. For some reason Steam said "Hey, Sarcastro, you played Cyberpunk, we think you'd like this." so, just passing the kindness forward, fellas.

Do you think high end RDNA 3 mobile have an answer to 4090 and 4080 mobile? I think this is the first time a 90 class card is released for laptops which makes me think they might be overestimating RDNA 3 (at least for the high end).

Hi, Tom, Dan and Dawid this question is for Dawid. When you start testing a pre built do you wear your nitrile gloves prior to removing the bloatware (STD's)? Also, are you going to do more serious testing this year, or more "watch at a safe distance but don't try this configuration at home" type content?

Dawid, you spent some time living in Japan, did you get to experience any gamer culture while living there? And, what are some differences between Canadian/USA gaming culture vs. Japan?

Hi Tom and Dan. As someone who got into mining with the 6000 series and 30 series. It kind of makes me wonder why people hate miners so much because when they go bust and have to sell all their stuff, there's great deals to be had secondhand. I know short term they drive up prices but maybe that's OK if miners get the expensive new toy first and subsidize the next gen by overpaying. I know Tom used to mine a bit; what are your thoughts? Am I off base?

(silly) Dawid, I noticed you recently changed how you pronounce the word "thirty" in your videos to a more Western pronunciation. I liked the South African pronunciation, and I hope that the random people in youtube comments are not bullying/shaming you into changing your style. I think the Dawid-isms like "back alley knife battle", "3060 scumbag edition", "loser nitro suckface" are hilarious and one of my favorite parts of watching your channel. Keep being you!

Hi Tom, Dan, Dawid this is I suppose more of discussive question about Zen 4. Did AMD mess up by trying to maintain cooler compatiblity with AM5? As surely there is additional material cost in increasing the IHS thickness to maintain cooler compatiblity? Lastly, should AMD revert back to the previous thermal behaviour of the CPU heat increases as power pulled increases? I ask, as I recently built an AM5 rig x670E crosshair and 7950X during the blackfriday deals - bought on monthly payments. On eco mode in R23 the 7950X hits around 34000 ~ 33500 points (all core at 4.5 Mhz) whilst taking about 133 watts. Default is 38000 ~ 37000 with the thermal wall being hit (pbo tune hits 5~ ghz all core - 38000~ consistently but there are vcore spikes over 1.4 volts with package power over 200 watts). Overclocked regardless if it is 5 or 5.3 ghz temps hit above 100 degrees c due to the design of hitting thermals first. Cooler is Artic Liquid Freezer 2 360 in a H500M. There is one thing to note for all, the LF2 cooler will not fit without being mounted offset away from the x670E due to the height of the heatsinks. I have had to mount one fan ontop of the case as there is a clearance issue by a few mm due to the I/O shield.

Damn, sneeze. Thanks for the great content all :).

Oh i forgot to add, on eco mode temps never go above 60 degrees on the CPU.
