July is over, Tom will be doing a Loose Ends livestream within 24 hours (probably at 5pm US Central Time). This month has seen a decent amount of news and events:

  • A complete collapse of GPU pricing in the US and Other Regions
  • Nvidia AIBs "Revolting" against Nvidia
  • Confirmation that Nvidia Lovelace Launches October
  • RDNA 3 Planned to Launch in November
  • Official Cancellation of A780, Still no full launch of ARC
  • Intel considering canceling discrete gaming ARC
  • Tons of Zen 4 and Raptor Lake Sample Benchmarks

Also expect Tom to have some Navi 33 and Zen 4 launch updates :).

You have ~3 hours to submit your reader mails below about last month's news and upcoming developments in 2022.  Be concise, respectful, and use good grammar to be considered!

Hello Mr. LawIsDead Do you see any AIBs cutting nvidia out of the picture because of their shenanigans, similar to how XFX left?

Do you have anything you can say about how AMD is increasing core counts for Zen 5 desktop? When you say a Zen 2 moment, Zen 2 just added more top SKUs, are they going to make an R11 or are there going to be more cores across the line up this time?

Hi Tom, with some of the stuff you've been able to leak or confirm, do you think you've impacted stock prices. Maybe you have a specific example?

Hey, Tom! Best wishes to Reesie (please correct me on the spelling - I hate getting names wrong) and the rest of the MLID crew! What performance level are you expecting from the mobile 4070 and 4080, and the 7800m and 7700m, in terms of a RDNA2/Ampere desktop counterpart?

Gwen Farron

Hope I'm not too late, but what tactics do AIBs have at their disposal to revolt against Nvidia? Do they just refuse to buy 40-series en-masse until stocks of 30-series drop? Price the 30-series prohibitively high so nobody buys it? What all can they even do to deal with the situation?

I doubt that MSI, Asus, Gigabyte would stop producing add-in boards, it's too valuable. Intel allowed cross-department gossip to take place, to the point ppl are running around, creating messaging of their own, and confusing everyone. I wonder if Intel has done anything to clamp down on the employees creating conflict. That needed to be stopped before it even started.+

Do you think the SuperSwitch will arrive for the holiday season or some strange Q1 release?

What consumer technology that's not a GPU/CPU/Console/VR device and that's coming out in the next ~3 years are you most excited for?

Hi Tom. After AMD event where AMD showed ZEN 4 with 5.5 GHz, Jim from Adored TV speculated, that ZEN 4 chiplet might have more than 8 cores. Do you have any info suggesting AMD might go over 16 cores with Ryzen 7000?

Frank van de Pol

Hi Tom, So far we have mostly seen X670E boards from Aib's. Do you think or have you heard if we will also see cheaper X670 boards at launch? I guess (and you also said it before) B650 will come later. But I hope they won't wait to long. The new platform will already be very expensive with the switch to DDR5. There was a rumor prices for the CPU's will be quite good compared to the 5000 series (7700X @ 299dollars msrp) but if the boards are 300+ it's still very expensive. And you might better be off with a 5000 cpu so you can keep using your DDR4 or if you have DDR3 still buy DDR4 because it's way cheaper. Even a 5800X3D might have better price performance compared to a 7600X cpu + board and DDR5 RAM. And about the 7950X3D early in the video. Since it's using 5nm the voltages will probably be a bit lower compared to 7nm anyway. I agree it the clock difference will be smaller this gen.
