As someone who bought Ryzen 5900x and a 6900xt a year ago i planned to wait about 3-4 years to update again, which right now seems to be a pretty good choice considering how both amd and Intel is doing at the moment, not to mention the gpu side with intel entering with it's new GPUs, so by the time I'm updating i exspect to see mature platforms on both sides ,and i can then wait another 3 years, not to mention that i don't see a reason to switch to ddr5 within the coming 1-2 years, spent more before so o don't have to pay the early adopter tax for either Intel's new architecture, ddr5, 3d stacking or Intel's GPUs to work out it's initial growing pains. guess i'll add that i paid very close to msrp for all my parts.

Thank you Tom and Steve. This episode was most interesting (again). Also, a praise for the fantastic audio quality. I just switched from a R7 3700x to a R7 5800x since there was a very good deal for me here on eBay. It was quite tempting for me since I'm using a MSI X570 Tomahawk Wifi with pretty decent Samsung B-Die ( running at 3600 @ CL16 currently). So, I pretty much followed your recommendations, I guess ;)

CUDA is an example of a proprietary technology that won out over the open standard, OpenCL.
