After a month waiting I finally went to the orthopedic clinic I've been to many times in the past.

To keep it short and simple: As of now, I do not require surgery, which is the best possible outcome! I know that my knees will never really be 100% healthy and the cartilage is pretty fractured or nonexistant in some places. Essentially, something must've happened that is causing me pain these days and swelling, however a complete lateral luxation of the left kneecap isn't entirely avoidable, yet not more likely than it was before.

While I do engage in a lot of sport, I usually avoid knee demanding exercises out of pain, which has left the muscle above the knee cap to not be as strong as it should be. I will have to go swimming and cycling a lot to strengthen it, all while being careful of course. Besides that I will get physio therapy.

I'll be going back again in 3 months. We are trying to avoid surgery as much as possible because I've had enough operations in the past.

I'm beyong glad it isn't aything too bad considering my situation.

Thank you all for your well wishes an being there for me!

I'm glad you won't need surgery, and I'm hoping this remains true for as long as possible!
