Happy August, everyone~! 💖

I wanted to give you all an update on my plans and what I've been up to.

A few days ago, I released the Astolfo VS. MrBeast animation, which performed way better than my expectations... 😅

I also have another 60 second Astolfo animation with some kick ass voice actors in it that is essentially done, as you might have seen teased in the Patreon Discord server. I'm just waiting on someone to finalize the remainder of the voice-work in it, and it'll be ready for release! ✨

As you may have also noticed, I've released a series of Crashsune shorts created by the exceptionally talented editor C0SMIC! He has been able to totally nail the feel that I want my videos to have and I firmly believe he is making some of the best shorts in our genre period. We have a few in the pipeline right now that are turning out super awesome, I'm really glad to be working with him!

I've been posting them to YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, Threads and TikTok and the response so far has been excellent! I think they're going to be a great way to share knowledge and funny clips through a different medium of video going forward.

And as of yesterday, August 10th, I have finished the Drawing Fundamentals class I have been taking over the summer!

(Toned Paper Astolfo Drawing I made for class!)

That means I'll have a lot more free-time to work on animation stuff until August 28th, when I start my first semester of Photography in College.

I'm entering the Photography program because I'm essentially in a situation where I can get schooling that's greatly discounted, but only for for a few more semesters, and I think what I'll learn about lighting and composition will help me improve my animations! :>

I've already graduated from my College's animation program in 2022, which was obviously very helpful in making my animations better, but I also took a semester of Graphic Design in the spring which helped improve my design language and typography in all my graphics, animations and illustrations a lot. I'm only taking classes that will help me make better art, and I've really been enjoying it!

That being said, I am planning on just making Crashsune content year-round, and no longer taking college classes at some point, because they do take up a decent chunk of time that I could be making new videos with. That will probably happen a semester or two from now. :)

Again though, getting to a point where I'm able to financially support myself (through platforms like this Patreon!) will drastically improve my ability to make content for you guys. (On top of improving the quality of the content itself!)

But what's next?!

That takes us to now! While I am still working on some new Crashsune Academy tutorials, after asking you guys in the Patreon server if you'd like to see it and getting an overwhelmingly positive response, over the next few weeks I'm going to make a proof of concept teaser for what I'm currently calling Rainbow Reanimated!

That's right, I'm recreating that "iconic" 2020 music video but making it better. Way better. We're talking improved lighting, shaders, animations, effects, compositing- everything is going to be recreated from scratch with my current visual style and skill-set!

I might change a bit of what happens in the video as well just to make it more exciting, we shall see~! ✨

But in order to do this, I needed to upgrade the Astolfo rig I've been working with!

This is still work-in-progress, but as you can see above, I'm working on a facial rig so that I can much more easily animate all the lip-sync and complex facial expressions that will be required for this project.

I've also enhanced his shaders across the board to add subtle rim-lighting and improved metallics across his whole model, giving Astolfo a more appealing, illustrative and cute look! ♥️

So yeah! I really hope you're looking forward to this project as much as I am looking forward to creating it! <3

I'll have more to share soon, have a lovely day! ✨
