Hello and welcome once back to our monthly poll, esteemed planeswalkers of our order! Alvar here, bringing the latest tidings from our planar scouts :D
Given that this is the last fully-fledged setting we'll be making in the short term, we decided we would give you MORE OPTIONS. There will be plenty of goodness from the Codex in the future beyond the Core Twelve settings - stay tuned!! But yeah, this poll has 5 potential results, all with very interesting narratives and design direction, if I do say so myself. Happy voting, and may luck be ever in your favor!
Our Lady of the Crows: A victorian-like urban fantasy setting, with low magic and high grit. This bustling port city is thick with intrigue and spilt blood, with traces of the supernatural lingering at the edges of every murder. Permanently submerged in thunder and rain, as if the very heavens wished to wash the city away.
Supernatural horror, lycanthropes and intrigue in the style of British dark fantasy. Comparatively low magic.
The Exalted Savanna: A vast and wild land where might makes right. Gargantuan beasts fight for dominance under the watchful eyes of the glorious and tyrannical divine lions, unquestionable rulers of the savanna. Villages and settlements thrive only under the protection of the mighty City-State of Uru, at great cost to their autonomy. Savagery, civilization and trade seem to intertwine, as if they were not enemies, but merely quarrelling siblings.
Wondrous and mighty beasts, Sumerian civilization and myth, hordes of warriors, weapons forged with solar flame, barbarians galore...
The City of Strings: A floating bastion of knowledge and astral power, home to our illustrious planeswalking organization. As any ancient settlement, especially one with enormous amounts of magic, it holds secrets more obscure than the gloomiest shadow, and glories more brilliant than the sun. In permanent orbit, it travels the cosmos freely atop its older, unknowable depths only known as the Underside.
Spells and magic items galore, plenty of NPCs and merchants, full-on planescape type narratives. Wondrous and profound.
The Aurora Desert: This barren land is located in the middle of a tropical expanse, like an eerie blemish in the face of the material plane. Ancient tales call this place a thick jungle... What strange magic operates here that blocks the growth of life? Only undead prowlers, adventuring explorers, arcanists and buried ruins populate Aurora. In the night, strange beaming lights blaze in the sky, like misplaced, ignited versions of aurora borealis.
Unique take on undead creatures, survival in an inhospitable dryland, artifacts of eld, cryptic ruins, recovery and investigation quests a la Indiana Jones...
Court of the Firmament: A celestial remnant, a broken heaven - this outer plane houses the remains of the ruined Pantheon. What little survived the Death of the Gods was rebuilt as a refuge for all who fight against Eternity, the Enemy. Home of the Celesari, children of the cosmos and zealous defenders of Divinity. Discover the wonders of the wounded Starfolk, and the terrible lengths they went to ensure the ever-consuming Void was kept at bay.
Celestials and ancient creatures of the stars, hallowed remnants of dead gods, powerful divine magic... And a deeper look at the outer beings that wish to devour the light.
