ANNOUNCEMENT & POLL!
- The Aurora Desert 9
- The Exalted Savanna 7
- The Netherdepths 8
Hello, dearest planeswalking patrons of our order! Alvar here, hoping you're enjoying the Emerald Crown :D
So, we made an announcement a few days ago, where we told you Ariadne's Codex would be going on a one month break to deal with a bunch of personal and business related issues. Aaaaand, you may be wondering why we haven't hit pause on billing yet. And it's because we've discussed and reconsidered our resolution.
In short... we're backtracking? We took a long hard look at the things consuming our time, and by cutting out inefficient drains, outsourcing our social outreach efforts, and some other adjustments, we can actually confidently make it through April without disturbing the release schedule you've grown used too - simple and elegant, one release a month with everything the Codex has to offer! We really don't want to disturb this creative flow that yielded such great results. So we're back to polling and writing, in other words!
So... the options for the month of April are as follows, with a flavorful TLDR at the bottom of each!
The Aurora Desert (Last Month's Runner Up): This barren land is located in the middle of a tropical expanse, like an eerie blemish in the face of the material plane. Ancient tales call this place a thick jungle... What strange magic operates here that blocks the growth of life? Only undead prowlers, adventuring explorers, arcanists and buried ruins populate Aurora. In the night, strange beaming lights blaze in the sky, like misplaced, ignited versions of aurora borealis.
Unique take on undead creatures, survival in an inhospitable dryland, artifacts of eld, cryptic ruins, recovery and investigation quests a la Indiana Jones...
The Exalted Savanna: A vast and wild land where might makes right. Gargantuan beasts fight for dominance under the watchful eyes of the glorious and tyrannical divine lions, unquestionable rulers of the savanna. Villages and settlements thrive only under the protection of the mighty City-State of Uru, at great cost to their autonomy. Savagery, civilization and trade seem to intertwine, as if they were not enemies, but merely quarrelling siblings.
Wondrous and mighty beasts, sumerian civilization and myth, hordes of warriors, weapons forged with solar flame, barbarians galore...
The Netherdepths: As arcanists know, the material plane has foundation stones, huge expanses of tough rock known to geologists as tectonic plates. These expanses were conquered by civilization, long ago, and to this day mortals explore the structures left behind, for treasure and for settling. The Netherdepths touch the oceans and the deepest caves, exposing them to the presence of ancient and unknowable beings. Will you be their hunter, or they prey?
Oceanic aberrations, abyssal fiendish intruders, re-settled ancient undercities, underdark civilizations, mysteries of the profundities...
