Weekly Update #223 (Patreon)

Whew. So, hurricane hit us, but it was more or less alright. Were tight on food for a few days since we didn't have much beforehand and all the stores were out, and then they weren't accepting cards when they weren't out, but it's fine now. Things are basically back to normal. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for everybody. We know lots of people down here who lost their homes, businesses, cars, and more. My mum's car got a bit fucked up, but it can still drive short distances until we take it in to get repaired, and that's pretty much the extent of the damage we got. Now there's just a giant patch of white duct tape over a hole in the side of her car's front.

And, amazingly, we didn't lose power, but we did lose internet for a couple of days. Then once the internet was back, I wrote LDQ and then I forced myself to get an EDO chapter out before doing TTE since I knew if I did TTE first then I'd probably push EDO off for another week. So, I forced myself to get an EDO chapter done, which was already hard and took a few days just to finish... and then I had to write a volume-ending chapter for TTE, and volume-ending chapters are always difficult for me to write. So, that was back-to-back difficult chapters for me to write which is why they took so long to get out. Also, read TTE's section below for what's coming next since it's somewhat important-ish.

Aside from that, if any of you reading this like LDQ and aren't opposed to gacha games... seriously, check out Blue Archive. I started playing it in the last couple of weeks and it's great. Normally, I'm not a big gacha player, but it does the most important part of a gacha game perfectly: the waifus. It's silly, it's fun, the characters have a ton of, you know, character, and so on. But what sets it apart from the others and worthy of getting a recommendation from me?

Every single girl has one-on-one visual-novel-style dating-ish scenes that you can unlock with them. Instead of just having a few lines that get repeated in combat or on the starting screen, you actually get to have a bunch of story and interaction with every character. It's like every single character in the game has a mini visual novel for them. The gameplay is mediocre at best, the music is alright, and the story isn't anything worth writing home about, but it spends so much time on the girls and building up their interest in you that it's just perfect. As for why I brought up LDQ, I did because the characters and silliness of it feels pretty LDQ to me at times. I can't imagine somebody who likes LDQ not liking the characters/events in Blue Archive.

So, if you aren't opposed to Blue Archive, you like waifus, and you like my writing, go check out Blue Archive. Just don't spend so much money on it that you can't afford to be my patron anymore.

The True Endgame

So, the latest chapter ended the volume, and now... it's time for volume 11.5! Why 11.5 instead of 12? Because next volume is going to be something different to change up the pace for a bit: Rao is going to take the lead. It's going to be a sort of spin-off volume focusing on Rao and his own maid harem rather than the main cast thus far. Though, you'll still get to see them here and there. I'm actually really looking forward to showing the main cast through Rao's perspective.

But yeah, next volume is going to focus on Rao and his harem, and then we're going to go back to Fenrir and his harem in volume 12. I figure it'll be a good change of pace and focus on slice of life and romance as a break from the more serious themes lately, and I've also been wanting to do a Rao volume for like... 5 volumes now, so yeah. I think it's going to be a lot of fun and a great change of pace for a volume. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I think I'm going to enjoy it!

I'll have a fuck ton to say about EDO once I post the last chapter which should be coming out this week since I've got a good idea for what I want to write for it. For now, I'll just leave it at that. Also, once the last chapter is published to the $10 tier, I'll be releasing 1 chapter a day for the $5 and $1 tiers until they reach the end.

As per usual, I say something like, "beach chapter next chapter!" and then it takes like 3-4 chapters before it actually happens because the characters, and totally not me, get sidetracked. But next time is the beach chapter for reals. And yes, I am high on copium.
