Final Tier Plan? (Please read and vote!) (Patreon)

Alright. So, last time I have a poll about this. Probably. Change is scary, alright? I’m trying to figure out the best option here. I am dependent on my Patreon right now, after all, so making changes that might potentially cause people to cancel their pledges (which has already happened) is something I need to be careful about.

Anyways, only being 4 chapters ahead for the $10 tier is way too little in terms of chapter count. Even if that would still be 4 weeks and 20k words ahead, “4 chapters for $10” just sounds too small. So, instead, what I’m most likely going to do is the make the tiers 10 and 5 ahead. I’ll also add a single ahead chapter to the $1 tier. So, the $1 tier would be 1 chapter/1 week/5k words ahead. The $5 tier would be 5 chapters/5 weeks/25k words ahead. The $10 tier would be 10 chapters/10 weeks/50k words ahead. So, even though the amount of chapters you would be getting would be halved, you’re getting more than twice the content.

Because I want to make sure that I avoid as much confusion as possible seeing as how some has already came up, let me put things side by side to hopefully clarify a bit more. Also, keep in mind that these are all big chapters. Not little ones like they were before. One of these new chapters is the same size as five old ones. TTE, EDE, and TQH will continue getting 5k word chapters while SG and LDQ get at least 3k word chapters. Now then:

Old $1: no chapters

New $1: 1 chapter | 1 week | 5k words | 20 pages ahead

New Estimated Total Across All Stories: 5 chapters | 1 week | 21k words | 80 pages ahead

Old $5: 10 chapters | 2 weeks | 10k words | 40 pages ahead

New $5: 5 chapters | 5 weeks | 25k words| 100 pages ahead

Old Estimated Total Across All Stories: 50 chapters | 2 weeks | 50k words | 190 pages ahead   

New Estimated Total Across All Stories: 25 chapters | 5 weeks | 105k words | 405 pages ahead 

Old $10: 20 chapters | 4 weeks | 20k words | 80 pages ahead

New $10: 10 chapters | 10 weeks | 50k words | 200 pages ahead

Old Estimated Total Across All Stories: 100 chapters | 4 weeks | 100k words | 385 pages ahead  

New Estimated Total Across All Stories: 50 chapters | 10 weeks | 210k words | 810 pages ahead 

Essentially, aside from how many chapters you technically get, these three tiers would be getting more than twice the amount of content than they have been getting up until now. Now, to smooth things over for those not paying $10, I would just release two old/small chapters for each new big/long chapter. This way, it would only be a few more weeks until the $5 tier is caught up to the big chapters, and free readers wouldn’t be only getting a single 1k word chapter each week.
