Hello, my darlings! Here is the script preview for the upcoming therapist audio - which I will be valiantly attempting to get done over the weekend! Key word being attempting 😵‍💫

This character’s demeanor was heavily inspired by Gillian Anderson’s psychiatrist character in Hannibal - which I highly recommend to those who have not seen it. It is a darkly artistic show that is often a masterclass in acting!

There is a bit of very subtle manipulation in this one (which will be more apparent in the nsfw portion). Most definitely it is an instance of a professional taking advantage of their position for their own personal gain while framing themself as simply having the client’s best interests at heart. The listener in this case may be willing, but I do wish to express this is strictly for the purpose of audio fantasies, and I do not condone this type of behavior from a mental health professional in real life.

You’re here. Come in. I was beginning to wonder if perhaps you were not going to show.

…No need to apologize for being late. I am not upset or inconvenienced. You are my last client of the day, so if our allotted hour happens to run a bit over the usual end time, it is of no detriment to me. Take a seat.

Have you made any progress with what we discussed last week? *pause* And do you feel differently now that you have begun to implement these mindful practices in your day to day life? *pause* I see. Well, then. Anything in particular on your mind today? As always, this is a safe space, and I am here to listen without judgment.

…a possible promotion? That is very good news. You have been working hard and deserve congratulations. *pause* You do not seem altogether excited by this prospect. At least, not in the way one would expect.

…so it is between you and one other. And this task you were both given… whoever yields the superior results will be given the new position? Is this the reason why you were late for our session today, to work on your assignment?

I told you, no need to apologize. It is an understandable reason for tardiness. This task of yours… how do you feel about it? *pause* Discouraged? Exhausted? Do you feel as though you have been overextending in your efforts to be chosen for this promotion? *pause* I see. Stress and burnout are no trifling matters. Pushing yourself to succeed has its merits, true. But when your constitution suffers as a result, how can you show yourself at your very best?

…Society attempts to convince the average citizen that everything comes second to their job. That anxiety should be tamped down when it comes to our work lives; otherwise we are deemed weak and incapable, and any burnout we experience is met with derision. I find this to be quite unfortunate. I have always been a firm believer that work should exist to support our lives, rather than become our lives.

All this to say: attempting to do everything in your power to control how a certain scenario plays out, when said scenario cannot be entirely controlled due to circumstance and outside influences… this can do more harm than good to your mental state. Often it comes down to relinquishing control and allowing yourself to say, “I did what I could, and I am proud of myself. Now I simply let the chips fall where they may.”

…have you ever heard of spanking therapy? *barest hint of a smile in her voice* Apologies, I suppose that seemed like an out of the blue question to ask. *pause, finally chuckles softly* I assure you, it is a real thing. Often it is used as a way to release past traumas, or to allow one to explore power dynamics in a safe setting. In many instances, it is often used as a way of relieving stress, as well as an effective tool for stripping the receiver of their desire to control various aspects of their life.

I mention this method of therapy because I feel that it would be… beneficial for you at this moment in time. If you are willing… I am happy to attempt this with you. Naturally, do not feel pressured to say yes. But in my professional opinion… I think it would remove much of the pressure you are under.
