November-December 2023 Content Dump (Patreon)

An almost Christmas miracle! I was planning to post here yesterday but blacked out after dinner lol Hope you guys had a great holiday season!! Lots of warm cheer and gift giving and all that jazz. Now's time to wrap up the year. This year was kinda a flop in a lot of ways(health and stuff aside), lot of plans I had that just didn't quite go through. I wanted to get a ton of oc stuff done and that never really happened. Then when I wanted to do comics, that never really happened either. Feels like I was just meandering around trying to get poppy fanart done for Con and I didn't even end up getting accepted lol So this next year I'm gonna rework how I go about things. I'll start off with some plans for next year-

Content Streamlining- Usually I try to bombard you guys with as much art as I possibly can, but of late it's really hard to do that due to a medley of reasons. So I think for 2024, I'll focus more on making sure there is at the very least 1 image set for every months content dump. That's always been a thing, but now I think I want to say that officially. At the bare minimum, I will try to have 1 set of 3-4 images for a given subject every month. What comes with that will vary. I think I just push myself way too hard to crank out like 40-70 images a month when that's just always been very inhuman lol Might be a sorespot for longtime patrons, but I think it'll preserve my health going forward and make content dumps come out more punctually. 

More Polls!- This year was not Poll heavy at all, in fact, I don't even remember if I did do a poll the entire year lol Seeing how I want an image set every month, I'll have to take a page out my colleagues books and set up some random characters/concepts I like for you guys to vote on. Ideally this will be a monthly poll thing, but I can't say for certain it will be the case. 

Back on my Comic Grind- If I'm not shitting out illustrations, that frees up time for more comics again. I think I want 2024 to be very comic oriented. I wasn't able to do all the character world building I wanted to do this year, so I'm gonna make sure I can get it done next year. I have a lot on my plate as is, so I won't brainstorm new ideas, but hopefully I can get the ones I've started off the table.

0Lightsource turns 10!- Okay not me, but like, the handle lol I've been drawing digital art for 10 years starting next year! Its crazy to think I've been at it that long already....god. That's specifically why I wanna reflect on all the stuff I've done so far and kinda just bring it back to basics. I need a fresh start next year!

More use of Social Media-  Twitter(X) has been my main hub for networking, but starting next year, I want to start uploading to the 50 other sites available now. I've been growing my reach on Instagram, and I managed to sign up for Bluesky and Cohost. I think I'll be posting a lot more of my doodles and shitposts to Cohost and Bluesky will be a mix of things. Twitter has always been weird for me since getting big there- I don't feel comfy posting comics or doodles like once upon a time. So I'm hoping these sites will be better for those sort of things. I'll also be having my business email available for anyone who wants to contact me for any business ventures. I've locked myself into a box for years and I want to change that next year.

Lightstore is gonna be up, I swear to god, it's gonna be up- I have been talking about this probably since I made this Patreon to begin with lmao BUT, I finally have the inventory I want! I have just about everything I need to sell, comics, body pillows, mouse pads, prints, stickers, charms, standees. The only thing I don't have is enamel pins, shirts and a plushie, but those can come with time!! Also they are very expensive to make lmao If all goes well, I can start selling in February??? Patreon will get the first test batch before I open to the masses. 

The Lightsource Tour- Since my local con won't have me, I have to look into applying for other conventions. I've applied to some places in California, Texas and Chicago. Will I get accepted? Who knows. But if I do, I'll be spreadin' my seed in the name of greater success. At best, I get a fruitful experience in an unfamiliar land, at worst, I sell terribly/don't break even but at least have another Con venue under my resume lol I just need to change how I go about this, and the online store will help out a ton.

Think that's everything I can muster up for now! I wanted to say Secret Santa was a great success this year, but i couldn't find anywhere to place that haha You can grab all the pics from this year in the dump as well. 

It's been...a year....but I'm grateful for everyone who was there to help me get through it! I know I haven't been the best creator these past 12 months, but I really want to change that and be good on my promises for 2024.
