Greetings, readers and loyal Patrons! Today, I’ve come to ask you for your suggestion. As many of you know, director Bob McKimson saved almost all of the animation drafts for his Warners cartoons and were acquired by the late Dave Butler. (The drafts for Hollywood Canine Canteen and Hobo Bobo have not been able to be located, sadly.) Many of these have been sold for auction in the last couple years and thankfully, the digital picture files and scans have been saved.

I have shared a large amount of animator breakdowns on McKimson’s cartoons on this Patreon and on Cartoon Research, using information from the animator drafts. However, I feel it would be best to share the remainder of the drafts on this page. There is a chance that a few of the animator breakdowns will be seen on Cartoon Research in the near future, if there is a title that warrants an in-depth analysis.

So, here’s the plan: at the $10 level, I will share three McKimson animator breakdowns in a randomized order (not chronological). Then in two weeks, the first video in line will be presented by itself at the $3+ level, and another title will assume its place.

Here’s an example (and this will give the first four titles away). After two weeks, The Shell-Shocked Egg would be presented as a standalone video at the $3+ level. Then, in another two weeks, the animator breakdown for An Egg Scramble will be presented. Meanwhile, other titles below will be seen at the $10 level.

Title 1The Shell-Shocked Egg (1948)

Title 2An Egg Scramble (1950)

Title 3Leghorn Swoggled (1951)

Title 4Oily Hare (1952)

I should note that these animator breakdowns will remain on the page and will not be deleted. However, this will be an exception if there are plans to write a post about a certain McKimson title on Cartoon Research.

What do you guys think? Feel free to comment below.
