At last, spring is here again! Here is a story featuring Scamp, drawn and inked by Al Hubbard from Walt Disney’s Scamp #13 (March 1960).

A little backstory: In the final sequence of Lady and the Tramp (1955), the couple have a litter of puppies—three daughters that resemble Lady and an ornery son that resembles the Tramp. Even though the unnamed pups only appear in those last scenes of the film, the little boy puppy was well received by King Features Syndicate. A comic strip featuring the little pup, christened as Scamp, soon debuted October 30, 1955, four months after the premiere of Lady and the Tramp.

His early comic book appearances in starring issues of Four Color evolved into a regular comic book series which spanned sixteen issues from 1958 to 1960. In addition, Scamp made regular appearances in Walt Disney’s Comics and Stories until 1961. A second Scamp series was initiated under the Gold Key label in 1967, spanning forty-five issues, ending in 1979. Meanwhile, the strip ran continued to appear in newspapers, with its last strip published in 1988.
