This month's random selection goes to Call Me By Your Name, submitted by azazelisawesome!

For a sun-drenched slow burn, this movie is a LOT, handles a LOT, and there's simply a LOT to say. I haven't watched it in ages, but it's a fave of mine and I've yet to have a viewing where I don't write several essays in my head. So jazzed that I'll finally get to express the essays this time around, lol.

*Disclaimer: This movie comes with some controversial subject matter and there's a complicated situation (to say the least) surrounding one of its stars. If you're sensitive to age gaps (technically it's about 7 or 8 years but the casting makes it seem like more) or have decided not to watch anything with Armie Hammer, those are always respectable decisions and you give this one a pass. Take care of yourself first, please!

I'm so conflicted because 1) I LOVE this film, but 2) I haven't been able to shake the ick and would rather give anything with Armie Hammer a pass, BUT 3) it also feels very unfair to all of the brilliant people who worked hard to make this truly beautiful movie just to have it ruined by one guy who turned out to be a dick after the fact. Boo! Anyway I'll definitely watch it with you, but I'm curious how everyone feels?

I feel you. It's a truly complicated issue. I personnaly try to focus on how beautiful and impactful this film is, and on seeing Oliver and not Armie when I'm watching it. And while I would never support any of his future projects (if he ever gets any...) this movie came out way before anything was known about him and that's the only reason why it's still okay for me to enjoy it. That's how I see it anyway.
