Time for the worst sleepover ever!! Hhhhh Xichen is already SO heartbroken I can't stand his miserable face journies here aaaa. I'm not sure how much it qualifies as a spoiler to say that the show actually doesn't Tell you what Yao's trying to dig up? They just... never tell you. For censorship reasons that Would be spoilery, but idk if it's a spoiler to just say what he wants? I don't want to accidentally be spoiling it too much but I also don't want it to be unsatisfying and confusing when the show doesn't explain!

so much is happening and its so stressful :'D i loved your reaction to cheng appearing and wangji protecting wuxian from fairy (while wuxian, still v scared, yelling to fairy "bite him!!" haha) this is a minor book spoiler so i can delete it but like this episode has one of the objectively best lines written ever, it may also be in the audio drama?? after yao asks wangji to sheathe bichen, wuxian tells him "isn't this going too far?", and yao says something similar to the show like... "you think this is too far, next im going to ask him to seal his spiritual power [and stuff], and he's gonna do what i say because i'm holding his life [wuxian being wangji's life] in my hands". i about kicked the bucket upon reading this sentence. this show is so very gay even without the textual homosexuality, so like the source material has the ability to knock you the fuck out.

Yeah, it's a shame that the show never explains this particular thing, not only what Yao came to dig up but also the significance of the goddess statue AND why Sisi was allowed to live, since these all tie together. I also don't think it's a spoiler and imho helps you see Yao in a somewhat different light, more...I dunno, human. Like he's not just a heartless psychopath. Now I'm not saying it lessens his crimes in any way but definitely adds another layer of complexity to his character. If nothing else, knowing the whole picture makes the small flashback in ep50 hit way harder.

The final arc!! Ahhhh we're in it now~ My beautiful boy Jiang Cheng with the entrance of the show! Look at that badass wielding Zidian! I just love him so much. Also, did you notice what technique he was using to initially fight off Jin Guangyao? He used fancy schmancy sword-scraping to create dissonant sounds to disrupt the qin's attacks. Ingenious! But gosh, I wonder how he thought up such a thing? I wonder if there was perhaps some other qin-wielding master that he contemplated fighting? Maybe one that he feuded with for several years... 😂 Speaking of ol' Jiggy, HE WON THAT FIGHT AGAINST SANDU SHENGSHOU. Don't tell me "oh, Jiang Cheng was getting emotional, that somehow translated to him not being able to fight suddenly" like! He is always emotional! That's what Jiang Cheng *is*! So the fact that Jin Guangyao, who is widely recognized to *not* be that powerful with regards to cultivation, was able to go toe-to-toe with one of the best of their generation and *won* is just... *chef's kiss* Love that for him.

I mean JGY suddenly went for WWX knowing that JC at that moment clearly would compromise himself to protect WWX. I guess that was the moment when JGY succeeded in distracting JC and got an upper hand at the fight.

Love how a-yao is just trying to do his evil thang here, maybe having a little date where he shows his boyfriend how evil he is, and then EVERYONE and their nephews come and ruin it for him. Poor guy has to watch Wangxian have a date instead and Xichen wont even look at him :/ life is tough for an evil genius

He may be the long-suffering husband, but fuck everything if he isn't gonna protect his Wei Ying from even imagined threats. 😂😍 Jiang Cheng's entrance is *chef's kiss*.
