Small life update (Patreon)

It's been a little bit so I wanted to fill you all in on some things!

First, I hope you're all off to a good new year! I can't believe we're just about at the end of the month! I hope you're all doing well!

So, to start somewhere. After everything with our rat Winks and her constantly ripping her staples out (she is now doing much better and is all healed up!) I ended up having a lot of travel troubles coming back into LA because of the crazy amount of rain we had been getting. I won't get into it too much. It was just a lot of delays, finding new flights, staying at a hotel for the night, etc etc. I finally got back here (LA County) on the 10th of this month, and almost immediately afterwards, I got hit with a nasty stomach bug. Unsure if I caught something or if it was food poisoning, but it took me out for a few days.

I had a few normal days where one of our good friends was in town and I kinda thought things would get back into a rhythm, and then last night I got into a (thankfully) relatively minor car accident. I am okay, and the other person involved is also okay, but I am quite rattled by it and am extremely stressed out. In the 15 years I've been driving I had never, ever been in an accident. I had a good run I guess, but I suppose these things just happen sometimes. I've been dealing with insurance for most of the day today and will probably be doing so tomorrow as well. 

My car is (hopefully) not totaled, but my front bumper is currently in the back seat of my car so I've got a bit to deal with there as well. I feel like things have been a constant whirlwind with only brief moments of peace. In addition to other mental health stuff, I've just been incredibly stressed out and haven't been drawing much at all in the last two weeks. I still need to do the December poll drawing for you all.

Things have been rough the past month and a half. After the JLPT and Winks' surgery I kinda thought I'd hit a spot where things had calmed down, but life is what it is at times, I suppose. It really feels like everything bad just decided to happen all at once, so I'm really hoping my quota is filled for the next few months lol.

I'm gonna do my best to get the December piece done, but with everything going on, I honestly just have not had the time to get much work done. I want to be as transparent as possible with you all. I will most likely pause the payment cycle for February. I will do an update here next week and let you know.

In the meantime, please drive safely and carefully! All it takes is a second, and even if you're fully paying attention, stuff happens and it's always best to be as prepared as possible.
