Heya folks, as I wrote in the recently posted pinup suggestion post, the change that I first announced back in June 2020 (and has subsequently been written into the tier description of the $5 tier since then) will be coming into effect next month-- only the $10 tier will be able to submit character suggestions starting in April.

For the reasons why, you can reread the post [Here]

The $5 tier will still have access to polls and to game content when it's finished and available, and polls are also going to become a lot more frequent, at least twice per month.

That's all a reiteration of old news/the old announcement, but I'm making this post in particular to announce changes regarding future pinup suggestions.

New announcement:

  •  From April to August, there will no longer be a limit of how many times you can submit a character in the pinup suggestion post.  Currently, you have to split up your suggestions to different characters. This will no longer be the case starting in April, where $10 supporters will be able to add the same character to the list twice per month if they want.
  • Pinup suggestions, as the system works currently, will be discontinued entirely in September 2021.

The 5 month window before the system is discontinued, plus the removal of the 1 suggestion per character limit, ensures that a brand new $10 supporter will still be able to give all 10 of the requisite suggestions for the character they would like to see drawn.  For patrons supporting for more than $10, every $5 increment will still give you an additional suggestion, up to 4 suggestions per month.  These will also not be subject to the previous limit, so someone supporting for $20 could give all 4 of their suggestions to one character if they chose to do so.

Why is the system being discontinued? For very similar reasons as the initial change, and again you can reread the post [Here] for those reasons.

Additionally, since the introduction of the pinup suggestions, its been a fairly regular occurrence that I end up having to draw characters that I don't particularly like, or that don't really fit the aesthetic or vibe of things I enjoy drawing.  That hasn't meant that I'm unable to do a good job on those pictures (for example, Dorian Pavus is a character I dislike, but people really liked how that picture turned out despite me not liking him), but it feels worthwhile to me to make changes that allow me to spend more time drawing things I enjoy drawing.

However, I've also enjoyed learning about characters I've never heard of, but do really match the vibe of the work I enjoy creating, so in the future, I may introduce a new form of character suggestions where I'm able to look through them and pick out the ones that appeal to me. But for now, there's a large backlog of characters who have received the requisite 10 suggestions that I will definitely be drawing, so I will be prioritizing those before adding any new systems.

That's all for now! I understand that this might be an unpopular move, but I really do think it'll be for the best in terms of the work I produce.

It's a good call all in all and gives you time to not have to stress as much about the backlog of things to do, plus it means you'll have more time to make stuff you want to make, so I am all for it :D

I'm even happier to support you drawing the things you want to draw :3

I think it's reasonable to want to make adjustments to the systems you have in place, especially if they don't work for you. I think it's smart to be more selective with your work if it'll make you feel better about it. :)

Reworking the system sounds like a great move. Even though you are capable of making great drawings with characters you’re not fond of, it’ll be better over time if you’re happier drawin

Agreed that this is a smart move. I'm so excited that you're back! Really looking forward to the new game content as well!
