War of Hormone is probably the most controversial BTS song that has been released actually. It was accused of being misogynistic and objectifying women. BIG HIT apologized for it cuz the backlash was so bad. They will definitely chill out with the boldness after this album 😭

Lee_Knowing_

I love Jungkook in War Of Hormone "yes I'm a bad boy so I like bad girl" this era of jungkook couldn't even look at a girl without freaking out 😂

Maya

Yeah, but the parts that are deemed controversial can be translated in different ways, like jk’s line about solving equations, solving equations sound innocent while doing equations sounds like innuendo. Since the lyrics are in korean we don’t know if they actually meant it in a sexual way

Maya

You’re right, Tablo is from Epik High. He’s actually really good friend of Suga and RM. In 2019 Suga produced one of their songs called Eternal Sunshine and on RM’s album INDIGO, Tablo is featured on a song called All Day. Tablo was also a guest on Suchwita with Suga.

Yeah true! I don't really think being sexist was their intention. But of coarse media will make a huge deal out of it. And yeah bad English translation is a problem and can make people blow things out of proportion. Even in Danger, JK just said "Are you kidding me", but it was translated as "Are you fu*king kidding me". He never cursed

sofija

don't apologize, take your time to feel better. god this brought so much nostalgia to me. seeing them reference epik high and j cole as their role models here when in 2022 tablo featured on joon's song and they're very good friends and j cole had a collab w hobi this year is crazyyyyyy

I feel you on tooth thing. Right now i am watching videos after my dentist visit and waiting for my numb mouth to feel something. 😂

Btw that eye cosmetic sugery in War of hormone is most done one in Korea, thats why they mentioned it. And i dont think that song is about sex per say but about teenage boy hormone inbalance and starting to feel some type of feelings about women.

Are you going to react to Hobipalooza and/or Hobi's documentary (j-hope In The Box)? Both are really great projects! I guess if I have to pick one, I'd pick the documentary. Hobipalooza is the best thing I've ever seen but the documentary shows sizable clips of the performance and a lot of the process of the album too. Thanks for all you do!

Also, you mentioned that j-hope having J. Cole as an inspiration made sense...did you know they have a song together?? On The Street by j-hope featuring J. Cole. It was released early 2023 as Hobi's farewell song before he enlisted. He wrote it and then asked J. Cole to be on it and J. Cole really put his all into his bars. The song is kind of an homage and show of gratitude from Hobi to his roots so he gives J. Cole a lot of time and then dances underground to J. Cole's verse like he did growing up. That's where his rap inspiration and love of hip hop came from and he honored that history and his muse both in the song. It's really beautiful and suits both j-hope and J. Cole so well. Plus, I get chills every time I hear J. Cole say "j-hope, Cole World." You should definitely check it out!

The whole purpose of the song was to criticise sexism and how boys can be at that age because of hormones. Like the whole album was about toxic love so yes, this song was about being misogynistic and objectifying women because that's the topic they were addressing.

Danger was the MV where Tae was meant to cut the wig, but cut off his real hair with it. He was not happy to say the least. LOL, you're totally right, Suga back in the day had an aggression to him, both him and Joon felt this deep seated necessity to prove themselves and anger was their strongest motivating weapon. Suga talked about this in his recent interview with IU, about maturing and how he's not mad anymore, that he's more at peace nowadays.
