Interesting point about Hybe and Big Hit is that BH is the original entertainment company and Hybe is a corporation they grew into just two years ago. Hybe has lots of branches and subsidiaries, including those in Japan and US and BH is it's own company technically under it. It's important to differentiate them bc Hybe is publicly traded company where shareholders hold a lot of sway and at conception, each BTS member was given shares as well but BH is a private company that is independent in it's decisions. It's important bc Hybe is only interested in more money and but they can't dictate to BTS (and TXT) what to do. Once they wanted to do NFT and Namjoon was rumored to give them a powerpoint presentation on why it's a bad idea and they stopped. Also Bang Sihyuk used to be a ceo of Hybe but he wanted to do music not management so he quit it and is focusing on music (mostly with TXT and Enhypen rn).

Once you start getting more into BTS they have official docuseries as well that show behind the scenes stuff too which are pretty good.

Oddly enough Psy wasn't the first KPOP artist i ever saw, it was Taeyang (the first KPOP song I ever heard was 'Wedding Dress' by Taeyang) there was an English version with Tommy C and J Reyez, and back in 2010 that was the first Korean song I heard. Granted i didn't know it was Korean, nor did it get me into KPOP, but it was the first song I heard.

It was not PSY, it was TVXQ way before PSY did Gangnam Style.

2024-01-14 13:58:30 One of the best doc series of a group ever. Insanity!!! It’s edited and organized so beautifully and made me fall more and more for the members and their music/achievements/hard work. It’s rare that something like this gets better and better, but TROB definitely does 💜

Well, for me, I didn't know the existence of Kpop until Gangnam Style . From a western perspective, Gangnam Style is definitely what introduced alot of people to the industry.

Bangtan wasn’t named after Bang Sihyuk their CEO, their full name is Bangtan Sonyeondan which means bulletproof boy scouts. It was their theme and name to be “bangtan” which means “bulletproof” and to be resistant to criticism and the hardships that trouble the youth. But it would be pretty funny if the group was just Hitman Bangs name lol.
