Sometimes it just doesn’t work out no matter how hard you try or practice. I love the Boyz, ikon and sf9’s vocal tones though they were all so unique. Jongho and Seungmin did a great job and being led by eunkwang would’ve been such a fun experience for them both. Eunkwang is one of the best singers and seeing him looking at both of them in the performance leading them in a way was so cool. He was so proud of them.

G-Dragon? My time has come. As a resident BigBang fan, g-dragon is a rapper/singer who has been in the game for years. BB debuted in 2008/2009 and Gdragon was considered the first idol to produce music. Basically he started the trend for those who want to be idols and make music. You may have heard his name because he is listed on the KOMCA charts (before RM, he was the lead). BigBang is kinda older so I always feel weird recommending some of their stuff because its not everyones cup of tea, but Gdragon (and his bandmate TOP) created some amazing rap songs you may have heard in the background of varieity shows. Basically, before BTS, Bigbang was taking the world by storm until they had to do manditory military service. I am not sure during your BTS journey, if you saw Jimin feature on a song with Taeyang. Taeyang is the vocalist for BB and in his episode with Yoongi, he was praised for being a kind of idol of idols. BTS loved BigBang and drew a lot of inspiration from them. I recommend you check out BigBang MAMA 2013 performance to get an idea of their sounds Just FYI, one of the members was arrested and charged with prostitution and gambling so they have a stigma around them and not a lot of people like them. (another was charged with smoking weed, which is illegal in SKorea, so he's heavily looked down on too, but that also made him take his life sooo...). If you ever take requests, I would say check their stuff out since they are the OG OG's, but I also understand that they are controversial to many and it might not be the best for views. Their MADE album kills and is one of the best I've heard ever. I see so much of SKZ in BigBang because like SKZ, BB started from nothing and rose up with just their music and performances and became one of the biggest boy groups in SK. Even with the controversies, many in Korea still love their music.

I literally cry EVERY. TIME. I hear mayfly sing love poem. I was so shook by Seungmin. Like i knew baby could sing and i knew he was stable but gah damn. Thus performance blows me away EVERY. TIME.

Nahh bro, when you said 'imagine being the other team' I was like NO BRO DON'T SAY IT DON'T but for real Mayfly vocal team's just too POWERFUL and the song choice was powerful in itself, nobody stood a chance against them!! The way I.N's soul ascended after the performance is so real, poor man was shook for the longest time. All of SKZ were just so so so proud in this moment, even Hyunjin, the number one Seungmin fan, watching from home needed a moment (a few) to take this in. And in fact, Seungmin was really nervous before the performance, while the rest had like 100% faith in him. Lisa was their for 2 seconds but that's like the only memorable part when you think about it. The whole point of Lee Know's outfit is that it suits him anyway lol I LOVE that fit btw. CHAN PRODUCING IS THE HOTTEST MOST INFLAMMABLE THING IN THE WHOLE ENTIRE UNIVERSE BUT ALSO HE'S A CUTIE AND IT MAKES ME FERAL. About Han feeling sooo comfortable with 3racha that as soon as he enters Chan's room he's ready to sleep YES OMG I GET THAT FEELING TOO!! I feel like he sleeps better on that bad then in his own, you know what I mean? And the peak is them randomly putting that 'pow pow pow' part in like no discussion, Han woke up and he was WOKE and they said yes that's the right lyrics. 3racha man, they are amazing. The 'MY SON' was so hilarious istg. SKZ once again RUINED that stage in the best way possible!

Seungmin was actually so worried but they slayed it and there is a YT video with a reaction of him rewatching this performance and saying how genuinely happy he was. Behind all the savagery he is actually very cute and sweet! I'm so happy that he got such a precious memory!

I'll try to explain how the points are distributed because, despite them explaining it at the beginning, they never really specify how this distribution works. It took me nearly 100 times watching Kingdom, and even watching Queendom, to finally start grasping it. Well, here's how it goes for all the levels of voting, except for the global one. Points aren't distributed based on ranking but rather on how much each group scores. For instance, in the group voting, the group in first place only gets the full points if it's a unanimous decision. That means if all the other 5 groups vote for the first-place group. However, this almost never happens, at least from what I've seen it didn't happen on Kingdom. In such cases, the first-place group only receives a portion of the offered points, and the same goes for the other groups. So, if the first-place groups have roughly similar scores, the tiebreaker would be the global vote, which is the only criterion that gives all the points to the first-place group. I only started understanding this because in 'Queendom,' there were votes where experts, self-evaluation, and global voting all chose one team as the first place, and from there, we could see how the other groups were getting their points. I know no one asked for this, but this has been on my mind since I figured it out, and I just needed to vent.🙃🙃🙃

I understand what you were saying about less members being harder to make a good dance performance, for the dance battle. But honestly. sf9, theboyz and ikon all together have way more members than btob, ateez and skz. They just chose not to use them all. like, look back at the performances and look how many members didnt even perform in any of the battles, while the mayfly unit made sure to include every single member of all three groups. there was no member that didnt attend the battles. so if you ask me, thats a bigger challenge. making teams for all 3 sections and making sure you include every member into a team where it might be fitting, while the itsone unit just used a few particular memebrs for each battle (i am guessing the best dancer, best rapper, best singer) so... looking at it that way, which one really is the harder challenge?

BB is the group that got me into kpop, way back in 2014 right before their MADE album and tour. Small correction so nobody gets the wrong idea: TOP did not take his life, he OD’d on his anxiety meds while in the military as a reaction to the weed allegations. Overall he was set up by that b*ch to smoke with and she threw him under the bus and she’s done that to many others for extortion. Overall, BB has had controversies since the beginning, from GD’s own weed use and special treatment in the military, Daesung’s (fatal) motorcycle collision, TOP’s weed use and OD, and then the youngest’s prostitution scandal. Taeyang is the only one who’s been unproblematic tho people can correct me if I’m wrong. BB made great music, but since the prostitution scandal, people avoid talking about them anymore, though their legacy is still felt in the industry.

Thank you, I didn't know it came across as being him taking his life. TOP is my ult bias, and I love him with all my heart. It is sad that their controversies make them seem bad but their music is soooo good.

As a sidenote, it was Han rapping in Backdoor that gave me huge GD vibes and made me a Stay. So I would highly recommend GD and TOP (if not BB as a whole)

For real, I think SKZ and ATEEZ played it so smart by sending only one member to the vocal team and sending more ppl to the performance team. Not only did it give the performance team an advantage I think it’s better to have less people on the vocal team so those few members can really show off. I also respect that they made sure every member in their groups got to participate and didn’t make anyone sit on the sidelines.

The only performance I genuinely thought Mayfly was going to lose was the dance performance and I would have been ok with it tbh. Itsone’s three king dance was SO good.

Their music really is still very good! I simply can’t listen to it anymore without getting angry. They were such icons, and I loved them, and because of their scandals, it really tainted everything for me. I simply cannot support a group that would let something like the Burning Sun scandal happen, even if not all of them were personally involved. It speaks to the culture of the group and the agency YG itself and what they think they is okay. Otherwise, yes, GD and TOP as a pair would def be good to check out. GD and Taeyang as well. And then Taeyang’s solo work and his collabs.
