I didn't care for the rankings during the whole show, since except for SF9 with whom I'm not familiar with, these are all groups I enjoy, but that Full DaSH didn't win the hip hop round was fucking wild to me.

Mayfly was killing their performances. I cant say much about the other groups but as you mentioned their stage presence. One of the things Ateez is known for is their stage presence, performance and expression. If you watch some of their live stages or even in the dance practices you can see that. And Seonghwa is perfect at this ;) Wish we could have the Mayfly Rap song as it is soo good. They all harmonized so good as a group. I wish we could get the collab again but I suppose that is very unlikely.

I must say as a STAY who wants to get into ATEEZ I'm completely amazed by their stage presence in the Dance Unit. San right? The guy dancing with Felix. He was just crazy. And the execution of his moves on the last part are just amazing, his expression when he danced with Lix.the red haired guy too. The way the members of this group move their bodies is just unbelievable to me. I've noticed they portrayed this possessed and very immersed persona on this stage that I got goosebumps. They match so well to skz's energy on stage, it's like the perfect combination. I just found enough reason to stan them and of course my babies did well as expected of them.

sunwoo is in a drinking show with other idols and celebs called the bamm bamm social club i would recommend you watch its rlly funny maybe after kingdom or when getting into the the boyz

As an Atiny myself I can only encourage you to stan Ateez. They are amazing performers, singers and rappers but are also beautiful people inside and out ! And they are freaking funny too ! And I agree with you their stage presence really match with Peniel ans the skz members. And by the way the guy with the red hair is Seongwa :)

The way Hongjoong heard the theme "colors" and jumped RIGHT into social issues and you can see Chan and Changbin freeze bc you can't just go "let's talk about RACISM" in JYP without running it by the company first. They are like sure, ofc, with you on that one but it's corporate here, you can't just say that! Damage control engaged! xD

About the voting power of stays and the wins being deserved, I feel like yes stay go crazy when it's time to vote, but also SKZ are the kind of group that is aware of it, aware of all the love they get, and so they put double, triple effort into everything so the performances would actually live up to or even exceed that love and expectations, so if they win the 1st place it's deserved and doesn't just reflect the effort stays put into voting but also their real worth and hard work. Cause honestly to me, if someone win a 1st place and everyone is aware that it's not deserved it's more humiliating than anything. But their every performance was fenomenal and everyone can see that they deserve to win, I'm sure even other groups could see first-hand how powerful and impactful SKZ are on the stage. I loved seeing some more of Sunwoo after finding out he's Han's friend lol. I liked Full DaSh but I still think Coloring was more lit, creative and complete as a song and as a performance, the 5racha's chemistry is amazing. Dance team really ripped the stage as well, they were like WOW, the stunts were amazing and well executed. Can't wait for vocal units as well!!

about the whole image thing that sunwoo and hwiyoung were talking about. for skz i feel like it doesn't really apply to them bcs the company allows skz to do what they want musically they entrust it to chan and the rest of 3racha bcs well they basically from the get go just let chan handle skz's music and ect it doesn't really have much to do with "closeness" within the respective groups. ALL the groups in kingdom are close and have solid friendships. older groups like sf9, ikon btob have spent ages together, struggled together, training before debut alongside one another, have lived together for a LONGGGG time and this goes for almost all groups in 3rd gen, ( and i'm saying this bcs a lot of newer groups hopped around agencies before they debuted so close bonds was hard to come by. ) having close friendships is not the problem with situations like artist freedom it's the label ! most companies and groups are not given the freedom to just do what they please, if they have a certain image for their group a lot of the times when a member presents something different to the company they will turn it down. that's just the way it is in kpop, though nowadays it's getting a lot better.

I'm not a Boyz fan but Sunwoo really impressed me. Everytime I see him though, I cant help but think how when he first met Han, he slapped Han's ass and asked for his number cause he thought Han was such an amazing rapper and wanted to become friends. Like thats crazy!! First meeting and you slap him on the ass lmao Poor Han and his butt cant catch a break with the butt hunting lol

San was definitely my favourite in the dance for mayfly but I have to say no matter how much I liked that performance I still think dk taeyang and juyeon should’ve won. They just had the best storyline and performance for me. They could show each of their strengths a lot better. But for mayfly they could do that completely but we did get to see them combine members of separate groups together to dance which was cool. Like I.N and Yeosang and San and felix. It was cool seeing them all interact. And the fact that they made peniel the leader when he’s a shy bean is so funny.

So, first things first, I've watched Kingdom almost 100 times, no kidding, between rewatches and reactions. But the very first time I watched it, I didn't know any of the groups. I only started because I saw Peniel talking about it on the podcast. But now, after all those viewings and even catching Queendom, I finally understand some things. Let's talk about that "I'll be your man" performance. for me it was one of the best KPOP performances I saw that year. However, according to the rules of that round, SKZ should have done a reborn version of the song. But they decided to showcase their skills and pay homage to BTOB by sticking to the original, which kinda took them out of the theme. I also think that's why BTOB didn't score higher. Even though their version of "Back Door" was a bit different, it was still recognizably SKZ's song. Now, let's touch on the rookie groups being judges. I know it was a big deal back then, but honestly, I don't think it's unfair or out of place. After all, they were trainees for goodness knows how long and managed to debut, so they were already professionals, even if they weren't on the same level as the Kingdom groups. They knew the craft. Now, when it comes to the performances, besides the matter of personal preference, in the "specialist" category, I think MayFly won because their performances had that more typical Idol vibe compared to It's One team. I know some people argued that the more rap-heavy or artistic dance performances should have won, but remember, it was an idol competition, so it should have been all about K-pop performances. It's ironic because It's One's vocal performance was the most idol-like, but unfortunately they couldn't match the MayFly unit's power. Anyway, besides being MayFly Team, I'll always say that everyone deserved to win because the level of professionalism among all of them was off the charts. And last but not least, here's my bias list: - SKZ: OT8 - BTOB: OT4 (although now I'm an OT6 fan) - ATEEZ: Wooyoung - iKON: Bobby - THE BOYZ: Sunwoo and Younghoon - SF9: Inseong, Zuho, and Taeyang

April Battle

I think in Mayfly v It’s One batttles Mayfly had an advantage that It’s One didn’t. And that is a prior friendship between 2 groups who are definitely two of the major powerhouses in performance, production, and skill in the 4th gen groups, then adding the skill and experience of BTOB. It’s not that the Boyz, iKon, SF9 were not equally as skillful but Mayfly had a greater understanding of each others skills and less of an awkward lag time at the beginning of each meeting. Not that there were still the typical levels of formality between them but for instance in the Rap section (5Racha lol) Chan is a social butterfly and used to being a leader, trained with men older than him and already knew Hongjoong. Minhyuk fell right in with the 4 of them very naturally, they were able to bounce ideas of one another and make progress quickly. I may be reading more into than was there but the It’s One group especially the Boyz members to the older groups felt very restrained in a way.

My theory is; the bigger fandom is ,the more crazy fans are noticeable. It also depends on where are you looking, because there are many armys that don't use twitter. And we know that on twitter there are a lot of crazy stans in general. So i think it depends on the environment that you're surrounding yourself in.

What I don't understand about the voting system is that SKZ got first place on the global evaluation and views on the 2nd round, so technically they should have at least been placed towards the middle (3rd/4th) if self-eval and experts eval were really worth only half the points. Cause 50% is self-eval and experts and the other 50% is global eval + views, where they ranked first on both occasions. So 5th place + 1st =/= 5th place

I loved this episode, bobby is so chilled and layback I love that he's having fun during this but his leadership during his performance showed hoe serious he is when it comes to making music, he is so talented. Sunwoo was so cute around bobby but they did really good with their delivery. Mayfly destroyed the competition hands down. the dance performance was really beautiful though, I really enjoyed watching that trio perform together.
