i forgot how much i liked the deserter as an episode! jeong jeong is a really interesting character to me, and i wish we got to see more of him. also, aang in this episode sort of mirrors zuko to me? his impatience to learn more firebending rather than improving the basics really feels similar to the scene from ep1 where zuko gets mad at iroh for telling him to improve his basic skills before he gets to learn a more advanced firebending set - both aang and zuko seem to share the trait of being unwilling to learn and focus and be patient. there's also some zuko moments later on that parallel aang in this episode!

There are definitely times I get mad at the decisions made by all the characters at some point but they grow eventually 😂
