Plant Parent is a plant identifier app that also identifies issues or diseases on your plants. It has other features but this is what I use the most. I live in a very wooded area so have many different species of plants that I have no idea what are. This does a great job (compared to numerous others) as a plant identifier. You can unlock other features of the app and it will nag you to update to pro version.

Picture Insect is an app that identifies insects. I do not use any pesticides in my garden. The main reason is I want good bugs too. This app lets me find out what insects are good and what aren't. If the garden has a mix of both good and bad then its in good shape imo. If you have a lot of bad and no predatory insects to fight them off then you may run into issues. Another app that does a wonderful job in identifying insects compare to the numerous others I tried. You can unlock other features of the app and it will nag you to update to pro version but easily dismissed.

Day One is simply a journal. This is the first one I downloaded so I don't know how it stacks up to others. Some features I really like is it imports the dates of the photos so you don't have to add entries every day just when you feel like it. It also allows you to tag entries for easy lookup to see progress of plants over time. I also use it to keep records of when seeds are planted and compost dates and temperature. You can unlock other features of the app like adding more than 1 picture per post, but free version does just fine.

If you don't garden, then tell someone else about these apps. I've tested many apps in this genre and these are the best i've found.

Enjoy.
