Recently I found a tweak named Pusher (Github)

Pusher can intercept notifications on your (jailbroke) phone and "forward" them to other services.

I decided to see if I could forward to Alexa but it wasn't that easy. There was one convoluted way but decided to just make a light blink when I got that notification and also displayed text on a pi.

Forward until just now, I stumbled upon Voice Monkey.

Pusher -> IFTTT -> VoiceMonkey -> Alexa (I used the app)

That's how you have to set it up, each site/tool has it's own instructions, but i'll run through what I did.

Install Pusher on your iOS device via Cydia or any package manager. Head to Pusher settings in settings.app,  click on services and select IFTTT press Open IFTTT maker, make IFTTT account, and grab key as it explains.

In IFTTT

1) if (webhook) then receive a web request. Give the event a name. Type this same name in the Pusher settings under Event Name.

2) Then that VoiceMonkey -> Make Announcement at this point you need a VoiceMonkey so go to VoiceMonkey and make one. Once you have a VoiceMonkey you can set the text in IFTTT, click Add Ingredient and choose value1 value2, etc. These values are explained in the Pusher settings.

In Alexa

You need to add a routine
Alexa App and create a new routine with your monkey as the trigger (“When this happens” >”Smart Home” > “Your monkey name”).

And finally if you want to make text-to-speech announcements open the Voice Monkey skill as the last action in your routine. You must have this skill linked in Amazon to use in Alexa. The button is on their site linked above.

You can test the notification in Pusher settings. One more important thing is to enable IFTTT you must press edit in the top right, drag to Enabled.

I had my settings navigation bar disabled so I didn't see the edit button. Test notifications would work but not others.

Pusher tweak is available in Packix repo.
