Whenever i do these you will always see a lot of sweeping movements where I dotn actually touch the canvas - thats usually me testing where im going to put a line and not quite wanting to commit yet.

I usually start with the line of the shoulders and work down.

When poses are not that straight forward - like the second person I usually just block in the shapes I see and try not to think too hard on it.
