I feel like you can draw your own conclusion from the song. When I started I imagined it was Gladio struggling to deal with the weight of the mantle and Noct's attitude. Bottling up his negativity and anger until it overflows.

But then when the song played it became more of an (un)requited situation with Ignis where they played keep away or had something and broke up and Ignis moved on. Gladio pretended like he didnt care but always arrived on his doorstep drunk and bleeding for Ignis to patch him up

But the gist is - Gladio is bad with feelings
