Deception (Patreon)

This was another idea that plagued me all day.

Prompto being taunted by his classmates for being a commoner. People only notice him because he's brown nosing the Prince etc etc.

"Welcome home, young Master, would you like to eat now?"

"Ah thank you but I'm going to play some kingsknight for a while. Don't worry about me - I'll heat it up when I get hungry."

"As you wish sir."

"Your father requested you call him later, master Prompto."

"...yeah, later."

I kind of imagine he's a nif Prince studying in Insomnia to better understand the Lucian people. Maybe he's supposed to come away with a very negative view - which to be fair if he had only been dealing with the school snobs he absolutely would have because he has faced nothing but prejudice from them.

I imagined Aranea as his bodyguard of sorts.

She keeps her distance but is always within close range in case anything happens. 

One day theres a situation where the bullies corner Prompto while he's by himself. A kinder classmate runs to get Noctis so he can put a stop to it.

Prompto is trying to placate the bullies 'Seriously guys, theres no need for violence haha' Noctis rounds the corner as one of the bullies goes to punch Prompto and BOOM Aranea drops from the sky in that move of hers.

"Are you alright your highness?"

That awkward moment when both Prompto and Noctis speak.

Cat's out of the bag now.

Noctis probably avoids him for a while. There would be uproar for a student being attacked by a Nif soldier and a Nif Prince being there with no one knowing

There would also be the blowback from Prompto's side  for a student trying to hurt the Nif Prince.

I imagine Regis would also want to have an official meeting - he's possibly already met Prompto as Noctis' friend. The whole situation is a mess.
