Thanks for going on this journey with us, I enjoyed it. I understand wanting a different punishment for them, but I don't think anything else would have worked because they are wealthy and we saw throughout the show they where able to get out of everything with money except death. As for Elijah's memory, I don't think she blocked it out, I don't think she realized her bear had tipped the candle so she couldn't "put 2 and 2 together".
