The fire scene at the church is.....just incredible. I think I cried when I first watched it, it was so intense and heartbreaking but also enraging just like you said. I love how so much of the shots evokes the religious imagery as well, like the slow motion crush of the crowd moving through the flames like sinners in hell. That gorgeous shot you commented on where Yohan's face just shifts and you see his red-rimmed eyes over Elijah's head with murderous intent--I'm sure it's meant to mirror the painting "Fallen Angel" by Alexandre Cabanel (which is a depiction of, indeed, the devil). EVERYBODY earned their paycheck in this show, actors, production team, everyone. Watching Yohan listen to the lawyer excusing the actions of the Minister's son because he didn't have enough parental love or discipline--ouch ouch. You could almost SEE the traumatic flashbacks to him getting too much parental 'love' from his own father. Also anyone else noticing that Gaon's clothing is like way too big for him? I don't think he has been home sooooo.... I swear, he is still wearing Yohan's clothes and it makes me kind of feral. Just like the undressing scene in Yohan's room, for which there is no heterosexual explanation. So glad you are loving this show! It's really nice to have someone reacting to it, as I haven't seen many and it such a piece of art.
