Hey Patrons! (Patreon)
Content
I was just attempting to go through a lot of the comments on our $10 tier announcement post, but thought it might be better to address some of the feedback here.
First of all, I noticed a sentiment floating around that somehow $10 patrons' opinions will be "worth more to us" in some way. Let me just squash that right now. You are ALL our Patrons, no matter your contribution. I hope this post is indicative of that.
As a side note, I noticed a lot of vitriol being spewed back and forth between people in the comments. I hope we can squash that shit, guys. We're all on the same boat here, we are all sons and daughters of Tomate (PBUH). We can hash shit out. Let me be clear, people expressing concerns over the $10 tier are not being "whiny" or "entitled" or any other pejorative you might want to fling. They're concerned and expressing it, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Some of you seemed to feel a bit cheated by the announcement of the $10 tier. That's disappointing to me, because the tier was designed with those feelings in mind. We didn't want to hide show content behind another paywall, that is what the Buffet is for, and always will be.
The $10 dollar tier is a behind the scenes package. Quick videos from the road when we travel, cool pictures we take, an off the cuff food review at a restaurant we're eating at, a quick movie review shot in the parking lot right after we see it, a chat after FLASH FRIED. If those extras sound nice to you, then the Chef's Table is there. If not, the Buffet is always open, and always serving up the same steamy hot, flavorful content.
I'm not trying to discount your concerns, just explaining what our intent was in creating the 10$ tier. We're listening - to all of you - and I hope we can have a conversation that leads to some better understanding.
Leave me a comment here if you have any concerns, and I'll do my best to address them. Be sure to check back later, as I might not reply right away.
Thanks for listening, thanks for being our Patrons and thanks most of all for making what we do for a living possible. Our community has been strong from the very beginning, and I hope we can remain that way through communication.
Thanks for reading,
