Brandon Smith

This show is my favorite stuff tj's ever done. Love the biographies and all the subject matter is on-point! Plus, no more annoying messages from fans.

Brandon Smith

Also, did you know the new d&d expansion was #1 on the non fiction best seller list. Any chance we could get a D&D episode?

Brandon Smith

At what patreon goal can we get animated shorts, voice acted by you three?

Anonymous

love the episode

Herostratus

Don't give up on Highdeology.

Climate change, vaccines and other scientific “controversies” are only controversial amongst non scientists. (People who don’t know what they’re talking about.) To scientists, all of this stuff was settled decades ago and we are just baffled by how ignorant the public is.

Anonymous

A DFF episode thats more than 2 hours long? i must be dreaming.

Anonymous

Why no Brett Keane DFF?

Anonymous

This is the one that made me finally spring for 5 bucks. Well creditcard, I dont have 5 bucks. lol

Anonymous

I totally forgot this episode was coming, it was a nice surprise

Anonymous

Agreed, as a physics student I learnt climate science day 1, deniers think its up for debate and we dont know the processes but we do. Weve known them, for a very long time and we have the data to prove it. People talk all kinds of shit about science, and they are allowed to because not enough scientists leave their research to shout at idiots on the internet(and who can blame them). Brian cox and people like him have somewhat attempted to address this deficit, but we need far more scientists speaking out against such nonsense.

Is there another one live today or is this Friday's show posted early?

Anonymous

Please order the the food buckets and the pills, I had wished that Jim Baker's scammer situation buckets would have been actually sent to you guys the last time you tried.

Great show guys

Clyde Frog

Great show guys, I loved this topic. One thing I wanted to point out about the whole "flag on the moon is waving in the wind" bullshit claim. I watched an episode of the Joe Rogan Experience where he had Neil Degrasse Tyson on to talk about all kinds of shit, and Tyson explained why that claim was complete horseshit. I cant remember which astronaut Tyson said had told him this, but it was one of the crew of Apollo 11. He said the flag was constructed to unfold like an umbrella so it would look rigid and also look great for the photo that would inevitably be taken. However, when the astronaut went to unfold it, it jammed a bit, so it didnt unfold all the way. That's why it has that wave to it, and looks all fucked up, which makes perfect sense when you look at it after hearing that story. Honestly, do these conspiracy fucks really think NASA would be that incompetent to publish a picture (a picture of the most important event in mankind's history no less) where the wind was somehow blowing indoors on their flag that was supposed to be on the MOON? Love the show, sorry for the huge block of text, but patreon apparently doesnt let me break this up into paragraphs.

Anonymous

The moon flag wiggles because SOMEONE JUST FUCKING PLANTED IT ALSO TJ keep up the good work you are running this show and patreon 100x what that "other" show did

Anonymous

I loved the episode! Especially the beginning where you guys uncovered why people are attracted to conspiracy theories in the first place :)

Anonymous

Is there an audio only link?

Anonymous

01:56:55 — TJ, you complete and utter dolt lmao

Anonymous

Stop mansplaining pls Also, shift+enter for new paragraph.

Anonymous

TJ, what was your original posting for the UFO thing like? Scotty and Paul cut you off.

Joe Sullivan

More "conspiracy-theories" (a term which was created by the intelligence community to deride people that questioned the official narrative of the JFK-assassination) are proven correct than not; it's just that, only one side keeps score.

Joe Sullivan

At the beginning you all said that you didn't 'believe' in any conspiracy theories. Then, a couple minutes later, Paul talked about the Gulf of Tonkin like it was no big thing. At the time, people would have called you a crazy conspiracy theorist, or the equivalent, if you talked about that like it was true. When it comes to psychological operations the United States Federal Government has pulled on the public, the Gulf of Tonkin is just the tip of the iceberg. Not a great start.

If you guys like Conspiracy Theories, watch "The Conspiracy" 2012, it's a pretty good movie.

Kristofer Foster

just a note, I see a 2000 and 3000 patron reward, I think maybe a 2500 reward might be nice too. just my 2 cents there.

Anonymous

i agree a stripshow from the dff trio when they reach 2500

Wait, was Obama Harold Penisman????

Breonna Rice

Oh my gosh I've also always been confused by the whole "GMO's are evil and will kill you" like I see it as a miraculous achievement. Sure depending on how we modify something it can be bad, like how pigs are bred to be fatter to the point that their legs can easily break, or pure-bred dogs with a plethora of health issues. However, as a whole it has heavily sustained us. We have cheated the natural pop capacity per area. Other animals can't do this. They grow too many then they die out back to a sustainable amount. Corn is a genetically modified weed. It has completely changed the whole world. Any other food is tastier, bigger, more resilient in our (unfortunately) unbalanced globe. I've read things about species of modified rice that are intended for locations of famine and they can survive and grow on almost no sustenance. Also stuff that is more strange like goats that make silk milk, cows that make human milk and other strange hybridized experiments that could potentially have big applications. Food, comfort, utility, medicine and beyond.

ITs the same reason MRIs were renamed from nuclear resonance imaging, people are stupid, really stupid, and are scared by words they think are scary.

Anonymous

Sounds like flat-earthers play WAY too much fucking Minecraft.

Anonymous

See, the GMO fear is silly, but there is a big argument favouring organic foods, and that's the overuse of antibiotics in the food supply. Antibiotic resistance is real and scary but people are too hyped up about mutated killer tomatoes and shit.

Anonymous

Also, I'd like to see you guys do an episode on Columbine, especially talking about how it's been exploited every which way by the media. So much of what happened was simplified in a really dismissive way, it's Manson's fault, they were only shooting jocks, they were anti-christian etc etc. Two horrible murderers became the golden goose for so many people who could exploit a tragedy to further their own agenda.

Anonymous

Do an episode on mass shootings

Raeinok

This isn't a total debunking but the reason I don't think they have a cure for cancer is that too many rich people still die from cancer. I mean they'd not only have to hide it but also have false flags for all the elite who still die from cancer.

Anonymous

Damn. TIL Paul will believe any semi-plausible conspiracy theory.

AlterEgoIII

No, it is you that is crap. Pure unadulterated crap.

Anonymous

It's hilarious hearing you three talk about how people are crazy for thinking "if all of us just gather outside area 51 at once then they can't shoot us all" when there was just recently a movement to try and make that happen and barely anyone showed up!

Douglas Effdeman

One aspect of the GMO argument I've seen that I think might have some credibility is how the modified crops might interact on the genetic level as they inevitably mix with their wild cousins. I don't want to fall into the god of the gaps fallacy, but given how complex genetics is it's not hard to see how that could potentially cause problems down the line. But then that's the thing, I don't know. I'm a complete layman on this subject, for all I know all these modified strains might have genetic kill switches built into them so that they're rendered sterile except with each other. still, it's not an aspect I've seen discussed in great detail by experts, and I would be curious to see what evolutionary geneticists think about the idea.
